Daiki grew up hearing many good things about success early on in his life, since the minute he hatched all his fellow dokkaebi all had one that on their minds.

To be better, gain fame, and be showered in coins.

Daiki didn't see the appeal, but he didn't wish to be a downer, so he listened quietly and content as his siblings rambled on and on about their future as Star Stream celebrities.

He thought that since he didn't have any ambition it would be better to cheer his siblings on rather than be another obstacle in the way toward their fame.

So, he lagged behind, was rude to his instructors, and barely passed most of his lessons.

The more he did it the easier it felt.

Then he was confronted by his siblings who dragged him kicking and screaming for his insulting actions.

"You aren't ruining your future because of us, you have a brain, and you have the talent-USE IT!"

So, he forced himself to the top and now had the "Great Expectations" treatment...

Welp, time to disappoint people.

He looked at the girl closest to him, she was staring at him with confusion and admiration.

'Why?'

He shrugged understanding a creature that was destined to die was a hopeless endeavor, instead he opened his mouth to speak.

"The 30 seconds are up."

He allowed the scenario to start with a bored expression.

Asuka's eyes widened as she stared at the screen in front of her.

[Proof of Value]

She felt her whole-body shake, before her eyes zeroed in on one specific detail.

'Living creatures-'

She felt someone yank her by the scruff of the neck.

"Ekk!"

The man put his finger to his lips, before pointing deeper into the alley.

"You are unarmed, and I know you read that right." He removed an ornate looking dagger with a blue sheath, handing it to her.

"It won't be too long before they start killing each other, so I want a deal."

"A-a deal?!"

"Be my guide and I'll keep you alive? Does that seem fair?"

She nodded her head, too stunned at her good fortune.

"Great, kill as many rats as you can." He then left her side, choosing to stand like a guard at the entrance of the alley.

Asuka gritted her teeth and attempted to stabilize her breathing, finally sent a silent prayer for the health of Granny Hana and got to work. She unsheathed the dagger and began stabbing any moving thing she saw with clumsy and slow movements.

Some hit and some missed, but regardless she kept stabbing each successfully a new rat was added to the blade.

She ignored the ping, from the notifications.

Sadly, she had to remove some rats before scanning the ground for more rats. Most were running, their resounding squeaks an attempt warning others (she thought...? Maybe I'm humanizing them too much?).

That didn't matter.

She attempted to ignore the glowing square reading Incarnation Byleth Eisner had gained the title 'Mass Murderer'.
