Byleth frowned as the small child clung to his leg soaking the fabric with tears and snot.
The boy looked six at most and from the colorful fabric used in his shirt and slightly chubby cheeks it was easy to assume the boy lived a pretty sheltered life.
This made it quite obvious that this was the boy's first time facing bloodshed and the result left him like this.
Shaking in uncontrollable sobs.
Byleth could feel his unbeating heart squeezed by the boy's sorrow and his own consciousness.
It was odd, Byleth would unarm (at times literally) any attackers and then ordered the other children to finish the job.
It was fucked up, but most children understood the circumstances they were in and shakily did their part.
Byleth tightened his grip on his sword, the timer shone with a minute and 17 seconds.
He couldn't give them any other alternative way of survival.
As a result, when a death happened, he was named an accomplice, and the system calculated the percentage of help he gave.
Multiplying the percent by ten and rewarding it to him in coins.
[45%-----> You have been awarded 450 coins]
[10%------> You have been awarded 100 coins]
...
It just kept going until the last kid got his kill barely in time.
Afterwards the kids ran off crying in their search for their parental figures.
All except for the boy that was treating his leg like a handkerchief.
'There is also that...'
[2nd Scenario will begin in two hours.]
"FUYUKI!"
Byleth turned to the voice seeing a teen girl wearing something vaguely like the uniforms at Garreg Mach.
The girl had a splotch of blood on her shirt, a black eye, and a glinting metal pipe.
She looked rather young to be a 6-year-olds guardian, older sister perhaps?
"You recognize her?"
The small boy nodded his head and opened his mouth to speak, the voice echoing above a whisper.
"Miss Akiko c-cares for me when my parents are o-overseas." He was practically whimpering like an injured dog.
Byleth nodded his head in acknowledgement and then went still trying his best to seem as least threatening as possible.
"I see."
The girl ran up to Byleth eyes wide and never once leaving 'Fuyuki'.
"Oh- Fuyuki, please are you hurt anywhere?"
Fuyuki simply shook his head.
"Oh, thank goodness." She looked at Byleth finally noting his presence.
"Thank you for caring for Fuyuki." She started bowing her head politely before looking back to fuss over shell-shocked boy.
She then turned grim.
"But we need to leave."
"W-why?" asked Fuyuki.
Akiko looked heartbroken at hearing Fuyuki's voice.
"Monsters have overrun the city and are destroying everything in their path, simply put- we aren't safe here."
Byleth frowned.
