The night was alive with vibrant music and laughter as everyone is busy under the dazzling lights... The venue was a lavish mansion, bustling with elegantly dressed guests. Despite the festive atmosphere.
YN felt a knot of anxiety tightening in her stomach. The memory of Woojin's assault haunted her, making her skin crawl with fear and disgust. She had always been terrified of him since that horrible night. The thought of being near him again made her heart race with dread. However, she was determined to see through it this time, to gather evidence against him, and to put an end to his predatory ways.
Among the sea of faces, the only one that brought her any comfort was Jungkook. Over the past two and a half months, they had lived under the same roof, gradually developing a close bond. Unlike their actual relation of boss and employee, they had grown into friends. Jungkook always respected her space, never crossing the boundaries she set. Even though he had started to like her, he never let his feelings interfere with her comfort and safety.
As they mingled with the crowd, Jungkook stayed close to YN, his presence a comforting shield against her fear. He knew how hard this was for her and admired her courage. He kept a discreet eye on Woojin, who was across the room, talking animatedly with a group of men. Jungkook's jaw tightened with anger at the sight of him, but he remained calm for YN's sake.
YN forced a smile as she moved through the group of guests, exchanging pleasantries and small talk. She could feel Jungkook's eyes on her, a silent reassurance that he was there, ready to intervene if things went wrong. She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the task ahead.
When Woojin finally noticed her, his eyes lit up with a predatory gleam. YN's heart pounded in her chest, but she kept her composure, flashing him a seductive smile. She needed to lure him into a false sense of security, to make him believe she was interested.
As Woojin approached, Jungkook moved slightly closer, his gaze never leaving YN. The rest of the members, along with Mingyu and Lily, subtly positioned themselves around the room, creating a network of silent support.
"YN," Woojin greeted her with a smirk that made her skin crawl. "It's been a while."
"Too long," she replied, her voice steady despite the fear churning inside her. "I thought it was time we caught up."
Woojin's smirk widened, and he leaned in closer. "I'm glad you think so. Let's find somewhere more private to talk."
YN's smile faltered slightly at Woojin's suggestion, but she quickly masked her discomfort. She needed to follow Namjoon's plan to tease Woojin, to make him restless and lower his guard.
"I'm flattered, Woojin," she said, her voice laced with false sweetness, "but I'm not quite ready to leave the party yet. There are so many people to catch up with."
Woojin's eyes narrowed, his smirk turning into a thin line of irritation. "Surely a few minutes won't hurt.. I'll wait for you"
YN stepped back, her smile unwavering. "Another time, perhaps. I really must say hello to a few old friends."
Without waiting for his response, she turned on her heel and walked towards a group of people holding drinks. Her heart raced, her breath coming fast, but she forced herself to remain calm and confident. She could feel Woojin's eyes boring into her back, his presence like a dark cloud following her.
As she approached the group, they greeted her warmly. One of the men, holding a glass of champagne, smiled and said, "Hey, YN! I saw you come in with Mingyu. Are you two together now?"
YN laughed lightly, glancing over at Mingyu, who was chatting with a few other guests nearby. "Oh, no, we're just friends. But there's something special about him that I admire."
