Chapter 30 Snap Out Of It!

Okay, my stupidity got the better of me yet again. So what would I do now?, they say running away is half the manhood, so if I ran nothing does damage my pride right?... Wait I ran away in situations more bad than this anyway.

"Your really stupid, how could you just wait here when your in front of me? A monster?"

"I don't know!!! Just my stupidity!"

"... Okay anyway, I'm not from this village. And you got me scared when you yelled telling me to not touch this"

"Yeah of course!, since it's poisoned!"

"Yeah you just said that earlier. But how did you know?"

"I-I just read about it in a book!!!"

"Read?"

"Yea! Read!"

What an awkward situation. Here I just needed one thing, run!.

I went to run but the huge crocodile grabbed me by his hand and lift me up to his view. Why am I being reminded over and over again how short I'm?.

"If you read then you could be of help"

Just damn my luck!.

"H-how so?"

"Lead the way towards the wheat of heaven"

"B-but I want it too!"

"No prob it's not just one wheat after all"

Okay his words are true. Why am I thinking that this creature doesn't aim any harm towards me?.

He put me down and said.

"C'mon let's go. We still have a long way to go. Since my partner did go from another way. He could very much be there already. And I need to go there first just to win the dare. What's your name by the way?"

"Oh. It's Maru-"

"Okay Maru, nice to meet you. Mine is Cearo"

Did he just cut me off?.

Okay his words are like of some good creature... I shrugged what happened earlier and went behind the crocodile.

I think going with him isn't a bad idea. We both can help each other.

"Don't touch the bug! They will make you scratch your skin till you see your flesh!"

"Don't smell the sunflowers! Their petals could make you feel dizzy!!"

"The trees are good to touch but don't-"

"STOP PLEASE STOP!! I GOT ENOUGH!. DON'T TOUCH THIS DON'T SNIFF THIS DON'T LOOK AT THIS!"

"I didn't mention looking though"

"YOU ARE GETTING THERE!"

"..."

"..."

"Be careful-"

"Shut up"

"..."

We went further into the underground forest, of course without me talking every second...

You'd think the underground forest is dangerous. Well-

"WATCH It MARU!"

"IT'S NOT MARU!"

As I were yelling. A big creature who seems without a mind to know other than eating and sleeping, charged at me. But a big arrow made from mana were thrown on the big monster's left eye, making it scream out loud in a unstopped pace. And Cearo held me running past it.

So Cearo do have Mana ha?, A good thing I guess.

As Cearo were running I started seeing some eyes looking at us. The monster is scream sure made the others wake up. It was unavoidable since the monster is scream were too loud to not hear even from the surface.

Cearo stumbled into a field full of flowers. I eyed them and they weren't bad to sniff. But to touch!.

"Cearo!! Don't touch them-no no no no!"

Cearo didn't listen to me and stepped on them!!!.

"We don't have time for such a thing!. We need to get to the wheat of heaven fast!"

"It's not like if you got to it they will just go away!!!"

"Who told you that?"

Wha-?.

Cearo ran for an hour. Not just in a field of flowers, but in a bushes and small trees and a pool of ice on the other side were so many flowers with white light, it's like you were floating looking at them. And... we got to the wheat of heaven... Yeah it's just like how it is described. A field of white wheat at the end of a cliff is wall, surrounding a big sunflower like no other. All in green and blue is just the sight of the water under beautiful twilight lighting the sky through the night. The underground forest were a sight to behold.

"Grrrrr"

That if it weren't with monsters surrounding every corner.

Cearo put me down and signaled for me to take three wheat of heavens. I went and took more than just three and put them in my bag.

"Watch it human"

A soft voice spoke up. And A big hammer went above me. Hitting the sunflower. Yeah I forgot, the sunflower is alive.

Cearo grabbed me from my collar dragging me away. And he were taking care of the big monster from behind. While the rabbit I had bobbed him by mistake were attacking the sunflower with his big hammer.

Once again, I felt useless. I felt so weak. I felt so so... Out of place.

"What is that!!"

Ha?...

The ground is turning black... What's... going on?.

Cearo and the rabbit went to go from the black spreading from me. And Cearo tried to take me from it but failed.

The black went further. Making the two creatures, the monster and the sunflower. Back away. The monster ran. Meanwhile the sunflower screamed, but it's scream didn't reach me. It's like I'm in my own zone. Nothing reached me. I couldn't reach anything... It seems familiar...

"SNAP OUT OF IT MARU!!!"

I opened my slowly closing eyes fast. The two of them were hanging from the underground forest is ceiling. The two seemed scared, but over me...

"It's okay, he's stopping it"

"Maru do you hear me?!!"

"Y....yeah..."
