Angela and I drove to her house since we had an upcoming final exam to write for math (bleh) and  wanted to study so we would at least pass.

We pulled into her driveway and walked into the living room to find Tim and Curly on the couch watching TV.

"Tim, can you turn that down, me and Y/N need to study." She groaned at the loud noise the television produced.

"Since when?" Curly poked indirectly at her grades which weren't exactly the best.

"Sorry, Curly it was really last minute." I apologized before an unwanted scuffle began.

Tim sent Curly to turn the knob, but before we headed to the dinning table to set up, Tim stopped us.

"Your that quiet kid's little sister right? The one Ponyboy and Curly hang 'round?" He pointed a finger at me.

"Yes, that would be me." I responded politely.

It was ironic that he didn't know me all that well since Angela and I went way back to the first year we were in school.

"Does your brother or one of his gang friends know where you are, since this is all last minute?"

I shook my head, 'no'.

"I'm going out later to meet up with Dallas anyways, I'll get him to come and get you whenever y'all are done." He waved us off and resumed his watching.

Angela and I began flipping through our textbooks and notebooks, trying to fathom what we were taught this horrid year.

"Oh fuck algebra..." Angela cursed under her breath.

"I know, right? And get this, the teacher taught us this route, see? But if we use the proper method that the textbook uses, it's more efficient and less complicated!" I lightly smacked my notebook, cross with what gibberish we were forced to learn in class.

"Makes you just want to escape, huh?" I heard faintly.

"What was that?" I asked Angela, who looked at me very confused.

"I didn't say anything, why did you hear something?" She cocked an eyebrow.

I just shook my head at myself and made fun of how math was making me go awol.

"Oh I know what it is...CURLY TURN THE DAMN TV OFF ITS TOO LOUD GO JERK OF TO YOURSELF OR SOMETHING!" Angela hollered.

Tim abruptly got up, "Okay this ain't my problem and it's time for me to get going anyways." He grabbed his coat and practically sprinted out the door.

I quickly calmed Angela down and took the pencil which was to be used as a makeshift sacrificial blade on Curly out of her hand and suggested we make dinner to cool off a bit from studying.

We popped the fridge open and scanned the contents lightly, finding eggs the most edible option.

The pantry had plenty of unused baking ingredients which made us settle on baking something.

"How about we make a chocolate cake?" The idea naturally came to me since the Lord of The Cakes himself, Sodapop Curtis was always making a cake.

"YES PLEASE!" Curly cried out from the living room.

Angela shrugged "Alright, if you know a recipe I'll do as you say oh wise one."

"I'll write the recipe down for you, just in case if you wanna make it again." I winked and grabbed a scrap piece of paper and pen.
