AIDAN'S POV

The carnival?" I say confused. I look over at Paris as he smiles widely at me. He finishes pulling into the parking space before cutting off the ignition.

"Yup." He says simply. I look toward the carnival again and a wistful smile makes its way onto my face.

"I haven't been to the carnival in years! My parents and I used to go all the time, but after Mom died it kind of lost its magic." I say, whispering the last part. Paris looks over at me slightly worried.

"This is okay, right?" Paris asks. I nod my head in enthusiasm and he sighs in relief.

"Well lets go." He says. Before I can open my door he's already out of the car and opening my door. He laughs as I look at him in amazement. Shaking my head I get out of the car and thank him with a kiss on the cheek. Like always a goofy smile appears on his lips and I giggle. Paris takes my hand and we walk over to the ticket booth situated outside of the gates that led into the carnival. Surprisingly, the line wasn't very long. In front of us was a young couple, and in front of them was a small group of teenagers. After five minutes it was finally our turn.

"Hi! My name is Kelly. Adult tickets are 10 dollars and children are 5 dollars, but if you want a bracelet, which allows you to get on every ride without a ticket, it costs 15 dollars." She says in a bubbly voice. Paris's eye seems to twitch in annoyance and I gently pat his arm. He smiles down at me before pulling out thirty dollars and handing it to Kelly.

"Two bracelets." He says. Kelly nods and put the money in a cash register somewhere out of sight. She then pulls two colorful bracelets out of a drawer and hands them to Paris.

"Do you need any help putting them on?" She asks happily. Her smile is wide and I was worried that her face would get stuck like that.

"No." Paris says and grabs my hand and walks closer to the entrance.

"Which color?" He asks playfully, holding up a green bracelet and a pink one. I play along and tap my chin as if in deep contemplation.

"Pink." I say. His face lights up and I mentally roll my eyes. I knew he wanted green. He snaps the bracelet onto my wrist and places a kiss on my knuckles, causing me to blush a deep red. Paris chuckles and snaps on his own bracelet and we make our way into the carnival. The music is the usual cliche carnival music and the lights are bright and colorful. Stands and rides are set up, and the smell of funnel cake fills the night air. Children run back and forth happy and excited, their parents chasing them. I take it all in and let out a happy sigh. I didn't realize how much I missed this.

"What do you wanna do first?" Paris asks. I look around and spot a ride. It was a large boat that swung back and forth, going higher each time. I saw Paris's eyes slightly widen. He quickly schools his features and gives me a small smile.

"Lets go."

By the time we had our fill of wild rides it was 10 o'clock. There was a less amount of children, and the carnival was now mostly filled with teens and adults. At one point we passed a clown juggling colorful balls.

'I didn't know carnivals had clowns.' I think to myself in complete awe as the clown gives me a silly wink. I giggle and Paris looks at me with affection. I blush, but hold his gaze. A rumble interrupts our staring and I gasp in embarrassment . Paris chuckles and gives me a sly look.

"Hungry?" He asks, playfulness evident in his voice. I sheepishly nod and we begin to make our way to one of the food stands. We look over the choices as we wait in line.

"See anything you want?" He asks. I shake my head and continue to browse over the choices. I finally settle on a cheeseburger and fries. While the people in front of us are ordering Paris turns to me again.
