SHE lightly picks at the material of her jeans as they stand for the national anthem, maintaining eye contact with the back of Quinn's head in hopes of avoiding the jumbotron. If she's caught on camera up there, she doesn't want to see it.
The anthem comes to an end and the crowd errupts into cheers and claps as they take their seats to await puck drop. Sydney is sat behind Quinn, Ellen, Jim and Trevor with Rory to her right and Georgia to her left. She's more than thankful she doesn't have to sit beside her brother— his manspreading always drives her insane and leads to bickering between the two of them.
She reaches forward for her lemonade, sipping at it as the game kicks off. The poor straw doesn't stand a chance as she chews on it absentmindedly, watching as The Rangers clear the puck from their zone.
Down on the ice Braden feels the atmosphere of the Prudential Center flowing throughout his veins. Despite this not being a home game for his team, he can't deny the New Jersey fans really know how to show up for a playoff game. He's feeling good, almost cocky even, knowing that The Rangers have already won the first two games of this series. But this is the playoffs, meaning it's not over until they've progressed onto the next round.
He knows Sydney's in the building and, although he doesn't know where, it fills him with even more confidence as he skates across the ice. They may just be friends with benefits— although even the word 'friends' isn't fitting— but having a girl you're attracted to at one of your games certainly makes you want to perform even better than usual. Braden's already scored one goal this series and he intends to add to that tonight.
Jack sits on the bench, rewatching the last play on the ipad sat in his lap. He knows his performance has been good this series, but it hasn't been enough for them to get ahead at any point. Much like Braden, although unknown to him, he wants to put on a show tonight. He wants to prove to his ex girlfriend that the sacrifice of their relationship was for a good cause; that he's improved as a player. He didn't know she was there at Luke's debut, but he does tonight. Which means he intends to work extra hard to make this win.
