Chapter 10: The Dragon King

It has been three days since Jaune's adventure with Cloud and the others. After resting up, he decided to try and take it easy for a few days. So far, all he had been doing was fighting ever since he started his travels so now, he wanted to go sightseeing. For the past few worlds he traveled to, he tried to stay out of any fighting that was happening and keep to himself as he enjoyed the views and places has visited. Unfortunately, trouble always seems to find a way to find Jaune, who currently finds himself surrounded by a large number of slimes and a giant one wearing a crown who is leading the group.

Jaune was currently wielding Masamune, the 6-foot katana was a bit hard to wield in the beginning but after some practice, he managed to get the hang of it, but he was nowhere near Sephiroth level with the blade.

Another slime was cleaved in two, though every time he cut down a slime two more took its place. They were honestly cute, so Jaune was feeling bad about killing them, but on the other hand, they attacked him first, so it balances out.

"Guess I need to deal with the king." Jaune said as he eyed the king slime and in a second, he was behind it, its crown and body cut clean in half as it then disappeared.

"Megido!" Jaune shouted as he used the spell to clean up the rest of the slimes, soon it was just Jaune left standing in the middle of the field.

"I just keep growing stronger and stronger." Jaune said as he looked over his newly evolved skill. He felt pleased with how strong he had become compared to himself at beacon. As he is now, he could probably take on the entire academy and walk away the victor without any trouble. He quickly shook that thought from his head, if he got arrogant now it would be his undoing. Before he could start walking, another window appeared before him.

Now this was new to Jaune. A quest that had a time limit to accept and if he didn't accept in time, he would lose the ability to accept the quest forever. The most important part of it was a quest that would help him learn more about himself and gain a new power that's inside him. These things told him how serious and important this quest is to him and if he wants to succeed, he needs to do this right. Luckily for him, he knows just the person to talk with to help him prepare for this quest.
