-Pico's POV🔫-

1:13 AM
"I knew your sister. We didn't talk much, but she was such a sweet girl. Cassandra just... influenced her too hard, I guess." I breathe out.

"Did she ever talk about me?" Y/n asks.

"Again, I never really talked to her so ah... no."

Y/n sighs in slight disappointment, looking down at her vape. We're both just bleeding out in the middle of this abandoned parking lot, and we can't exactly go to the hospital because neither of us have insurance.

"How about we go to my apartment and we can get us both patched up? I ask her. She nods and silently follows me into the night, both of us leaning on one another for support.

Stepping into my apartment, I collapse. Y/n hobbles in after me and helps me up, even with her injured leg. "You're a god damn fighter, chick." I cough out as she helps me sit on the counter. "Mama ain't raise no bitch." She half jokes before I point her in the direction of the medical supplies.

I chuckle a bit as she places the supplies next to me. "I did a number on you, huh?" She huffs. I shrug in response, "Vice versa." I see a small smile form on her face and my heart flutters at the sight.

God I haven't seen her smile in what feels like forever.

I'm abruptly cut from my thoughts when I notice her gazing at me. "W-what?" I ask. "I stabbed your shoulder and chest. I can't exactly patch you up through your sweater." She blatantly responds. I feel my face start to heat up.

Nobody's ever seen me shirtless before.

"U-uh... yeah... right, right..." I stammer a bit. I avert my eyes from hers and slowly remove my sweater. I've always been hella proud of my abs, but not too confident on the scars that came with them.

I flinch at her sudden touch on my chest. "I stabbed you pretty damn good." Y/n mumbles. "I'd assume so. You were tryin' to kill me there." I playfully nudge her, to which she scoffs sarcastically as she places a suture needle and thread beside me.

I watch as Y/n pours warm water onto a rag, soaking it then wringing it out. She softly puts one hand on my shoulder to keep me still while the other gently wipes away the blood to reveal the wound. I slightly flinch at the contact, but I grew a bit more fond of her touch.

God her hands are so warm.

I feel the heat radiate off of my face as she gets closer to me, grabbing iodine from the bag and pouring it on the rag before carefully cleaning up the wound. I grab her shoulder roughly and hiss at the stinging sensation I feel in my chest. "Hey, hey. Look at me," She says, tapping my cheek with her hand. "Just pay attention to me."

And just like that, the pain subsides.

"Not a bad sewing job whatsoever, toots." I say, looking at my shoulder and chest in mirror.

"Great. My turn, pretty boy." Y/n says before slipping her pants halfway down, just enough to see the large puncture in her thigh. I quickly look away, my face flushing. "J-Jesus fuck give me a warning for God's sake—!" I raise my voice, coughing out of embarrassment. She looks at me in pure confusion.

You cannot be THIS clueless... god damn it now I sound like a weirdo.

"Look, just don't make it weird and it'll be fine. I just really, really need a stitch on this because it hurts like a motherfucker." She shrugs.

"Right... on it."

I try to focus on patching her up but at the same time I really, REALLY don't want to make her feel uncomfortable in the slightest. As I wipe away her blood, I can feel her eyes watching my every movement.

"I won't bite, y'know." She says softly.

"...Not hard, at least." I say in a flirtatious tone.

We both squared each other away, Y/n grabbed one of my sweaters and some shorts she left and now we're sitting together on my bed. "Since the truth is comin' out, I need you to know somethin' about my friends and I." I sigh out loud. Y/n looks up at me with curiosity.

God that sweater is so large compared to her. It's kinda cute.

"We're ah... contract killers."

She cocks an eyebrow, looking almost disappointed. "You kinda make it obvious considering that you all carry weapons and you can sure as hell fight like you're gonna kill someone." She shrugs. I sigh in relief and collapse in my bed. "Darnell, Nene, and I are gonna look for Cassandra and kill her before she gets the drop on us. I ended up findin' one of her goons huddled under the highway bridge, and now he's tied up in Nene's basement. He's gonna be our informant. He seemed to be shocked to hear that Cass was alive, but I don't buy it." I roll my eyes thinking of Cyclops and his dumb fucking face.

Then I remember the deal we made.

That one I'm definitely not telling Y/n, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. She already has too much on her plate.

Y/n suddenly sighs and I look over. "Just so we're clear, I'm only going to help you. I can't find it in my heart to forgive someone who killed the only family member who took care of me, regardless of what she did." I look down. I feel almost... disappointed? Or sad? Whatever.

I don't need anybody right now anyway...

-Y/n's POV-

This is now strictly business. After that, I part with Pico and we'll go our separate ways once we deal with Cassandra together.

I know it's so fucking stupid to not forgive him. Those were all innocent people Via supposedly murdered, yet I just look past that because we were so close. A part of me doesn't WANT to believe she did any of that.

But now that I remember those memories... I guess Pico's statements did line up with what I saw.

She had a gun for God's sake.
But she's family.
But she took so many lives.

I can't do this shit anymore.

I put my face in my hands. It's just too much to comprehend and deal with right now. I hear something shift behind me before I feel a warm hand awkwardly placed on my shoulder. I slowly turn around to see Pico with the most stupid yet determined look in his face as he sits there, his face noticeably becoming a light pink.

"What... the fuck are you doing?"

"Comforting you..."

"...?"

"...Is it workin'?"

"..."

"...Kinda."
