Grizzy really hated the fact that hed met Percy just a few weeks before finals. They'd barely had a lot of time to really hang out, though they made the few times they had count.
Grizzy was really enjoying his new friend. Percy was witty, funny, relatable, smart as hell, and he loved animals. They had so much in common with similar tastes of favorite games, foods, movies, and humor.
He did kind of hate how his other friends seemed to be distancing themselves even more from him the more he hung out with him, though they were still as friendly and playful as ever when they did talk.
But Puffer and Blarg never sought him out on campus anymore, for lunch or after classes were done. They hung out occasionally at home, talked whenever they did see each other, but they never looked for him.
Grizzy missed them, more than he'd admit. Pezzy, Smiity and Droid talked to him all the time, thankfully, so he didn't feel completely forgotten, but he missed everyone else.
"Hey Grizzy!" He heard behind him and he turned, smiling brightly as Percy ran up. "Hey Percy, how was English writing?" He asked and Percy made a face.
"Man, I suck at writing. English is the only language I know and yet I still fuck it up. I prefer math, numbers are easy to understand," he grumbled and Grizzy laughed.
"Pezzy's the same way, give him any math problem and he can solve it so easy, but use some big fancy word and suddenly 'that's a big word for Elmo'," he said, mimicking his friends voice at the end.
Percy laughed lightly, shaking his head. "What's Pezzy studying?" He asked and Grizzy shrugged. "Marketing, he wants to make commercials. He's a super creative dude, I can see him going far," he said with a grin and Percy nodded interested.
"What about the rest of your friends? What are their names? Droid and Smiity?" He asked and Grizzy nodded, shrugging.
"Smiity is studying film, wants to be a director. Droid is studying linguistics, bit of a language nerd for someone who only really knows one and a quarter languages," he said with a laugh and Percy grinned.
"And the others?" He prompted and Grizzy shrugged again. "Kryoz is in art I think, he has a landscaping business. Puffer is doing marine biology and Blarg is doing business.
"Now Blarg, he's fucking incredible with numbers. English, he knows, but I swear he speaks his own language. The things he says are so weird, that fucker has got to have some alien living in his head," he said with a laugh and Percy nodded interested.
"You said Kryoz is a landscaper?" He asked and Grizzy nodded, shrugging. "Yeah, it's one of his jobs. He also owns an art studio, and let me tell you, his art is fucking amazing," he said excitedly and Percy raised an eyebrow.
"Art huh?" He asked and Grizzy tossed him a look. "Yeah, I did say Kryoz is an art major," he said and Percy flushed. "Right, you did say that. Do the others work?" He asked and Grizzy felt a bit uncomfortable. Why was he asking so many questions about his friends.
"Puffer does, Blarg and Pezzy not yet," he said, not elaborating. "What does Puffer do for work?" Percy pushed and Grizzy frowned.
"I don't know, he's never said. It's just a weekend job and he picks up the odd shift after school, that's all I know," he lied, watching Percy from the corner of his eye. He knew Puffer was a lifeguard and swim coach, but all the questions were ringing a dim bell in his head, a voice sounding suspiciously like Puffer telling him to shut the fuck up.
Percy looked vaguely disappointed at Grizzy's answer and said, "Oh, that's fine. College kids need jobs, right? What about you? Do you work?" He asked, changing the subject and Grizzy nodded, still eyeing him oddly from the corner of his eye.
