Author's Note:
Words count is 7K plus as promise. I did try to lessen the words, but sometimes I got myself lost in writing and forgetting the max word count I promise.
Still, I still hope you still enjoy this chapter, regardless.
And can I get a vote? It makes me feel motivate doing this.
Thanks! <3

Y/n stared out into the distance, her head resting against one hand as she gazed through the car window. The city lights streamed past, illuminating the familiar yet distant landscape. The city hadn't changed, though it had only been a year since she was last here. Still, it felt like an eternity.
Beside her, Eichi, her younger brother, slept soundly with his head on their older brother's lap. Her older brother, engrossed in his phone, chuckled softly, the screen's light casting a warm glow on his face. Up front, her parents sat—her dad driving while conversing quietly and calmly with her mom, who smiled and giggled softly in response.
It had been an hour since she saw Bokuto's frowning face. His sparkling golden eyes, usually brimming with life and energy, were now filled with desperation and concern as he looked at her.
"Y/n-chan," he had said, his voice trembling slightly. He reached out, his hand hovering uncertainly as if unsure whether to touch her. Y/n managed to break herself out of his grasp but couldn't run away. He stood before her, and though she wanted to flee, she also wanted to hear what he had to say. Would he yell at her? She would, if she was in his place, if her best friend had vanished without a trace for a year.
Guilt washed over her. Why couldn't she just make a decision? She missed them dearly and still held onto everything they had shared. Their photos were still near her bed, the only comfort she had in her room. Their faces and memories brought her the only peaceful sleep she got. So why couldn't she just talk to them?
Bokuto tried to reach out again, his mouth slightly opening as he did. But Y/n could barely register his voice or the frantic footsteps rushing toward them. All she could focus on were her own thoughts. Why couldn't she just come clean with them?
The next thing she knew, her family was there, rushing toward her with a mixture of panic and relief. Her mother's tear-streaked face appeared in her line of sight, her father close behind, both of them asking questions she couldn't quite process.
"Y/n! Oh, thank God you're alive!" her mother exclaimed, her voice shaking as she gently cradled Y/n's face in her hands. Her father hovered nearby, his usually composed demeanor cracked with anxiety as he watched his wife cradle Y/n, scanning her from head to toe.
They had just heard the news and rushed straight to the police station. Relief washed over them when they found out the body wasn't hers, but the anxiety didn't completely dissipate. The lingering question gnawed at him: Why did the deceased person have her phone?
They hurried to her school next, hoping for answers, but her teacher delivered another blow—she hadn't attended any classes that day and hadn't been seen at all. Panic set in as they frantically searched for her. He recalled the fight they had that morning, the distraught look on her face. He told his wife about it, which only fueled her frustration. She yelled at him, even hit him on the head in exasperation as they tried to guess where she might have gone.
After more than an hour of searching, they finally arrived at the park at dawn. There she was, standing with a man. Though he couldn't identify who the man was, the connection between them was evident in their expressions. Without wasting a second, her mother rushed towards her, with him following closely behind.
