Almost Sexy Time
When I woke up, there was a foul taste in my mouth. Surprisingly, my head didn't hurt but I still feel a little light-headed from last night's drink. I realized that I was in my room, and was dressed in my pyjamas.
For a moment, I laid there in my bed wondering who dressed me, and how. I raked my brain from last night's events and vividly remembered kissing Minji a few times. The memory made me blush, and I rolled my eyes from my obvious giddiness.
The fact that Minji was the first thing that came into my mind when I woke up made me feel ridiculous, and flustered at the same time. Damn her, and her light brown eyes that I can't seem to stop thinking about.
Slowly, I sat up from my bed and blinked a few times to let my eyes adjust from the bright sunlight that was coming from my window. Then, I looked for my glasses and found them sitting on my bedside table.
My clock says it's quarter to nine in the morning, and I decided to go check up on my friends downstairs. I'm slightly paranoid that the mess would be major, but surprisingly it was really neat. As I made my way to the kitchen, I noticed that empty bottles, and anything recyclables are segregated in a big plastic bag. The garbage was also neatly tied up in a bag, and ready to be thrown. Counter tops were wiped, and I actually felt proud of my friends for being responsible and cleaning up after themselves. Gosh, I feel respected.
When I was getting myself a glass of water, I heard faint voices from the living room. I followed it with my glass of water in hand, and stopped in the middle of the hallway to see that Minji and Dani were cleaning up the living room.
"She's sensitive." I heard Dani say while she shoved potato chip wrappers in a garbage bag.
"I know." Minji replied.
"I don't think you do know." Dani continued. "Hanni can be very...-"
"Complicated?" Minji suggested, with a chuckle. "I know that Danielle."
It dawned on me that these two were talking about me, so I slowly backed away and pressed my back against the wall in the hall and sipped my water quietly. I knew that I'm eavesdropping, but I feel like I should listen to what they're saying.
"I've noticed, and correct me if I'm wrong but... You know more about Hanni, than Hanni knows about you." Danielle said, her voice questioning.
"I don't think Hanni has time for me right now." Minji replied. "But I do know that she's going through a tough time, and I'm going to help her."
"I want to help too." Danielle said. I heard a sigh coming from her. Then Minji asked,
"You're probably wondering why you're finding about this now?"
I frowned, wondering what they were talking about.
"Yes." Danielle answered, her voice sounding upset. "But not really. I knew something was going on between you two, but I wasn't really sure if it was actually happening because Hanni was really good at hiding it. You, on the other hand-"
"An open book?" Minji finished, and I swear I could hear the smile on her voice. "Yeah, I've heard that a few times."
Then, the two were silent for a moment. I could hear bottles clinking as they put them away, and the rustles of plastic bags. I wondered if this was the perfect time for me to barge in the room. But when I was about to walk in, Minji spoke,
"You know what's weird?"
"What?"
"You've met me before." Minji continued, chuckling.
What do you mean?"
