Kunti's frustration was witnessed by Bhishma, Vidur, and Shakuni. (Yes, you all guessed it right, my dear readers). It seemed as if Shakuni already knew something like this would happen. Meanwhile, Bhishma and Vidur couldn't understand why Kunti was frustrated about Karna's birth, and this made their expressions stern.
Bhishma's reaction was because Karna had become extremely important to him. Firstly, with Karna's arrival, the Kuru dynasty's fortunes had risen, and Dhritarashtra's eyesight had been restored.
Secondly, Karna himself was considered a part of Surya, the Sun God. It would not be wrong to say that Surya Deva had given a part of himself to Karna. For Bhishma, Karna was no less than Surya Deva. Bhishma could even feel a divine energy from Karna. Bhishma couldn't believe that a kind and sweet lady like Kunti would act in such a manner.
Similarly, Vidur couldn't believe that Kunti would be so frustrated. However, Vidur did not like the fact that Kunti was unhappy about Karna's birth. Ever since Vidur had opposed Dhritarashtra's coronation, he had felt guilty for being the cause of his elder brother's sorrow. Therefore, when Dhritarashtra's eyesight was restored, Vidur was the happiest. Since it was due to Karna that Dhritarashtra's eyesight was restored, Karna had now become Vidur's favorite.
Following the royal customs, everyone was about to go inside when Satyavati, with her dominating aura, said, "By the way, Kunti, we had some good news to share with everyone. Dhritarashtra's eyesight has returned, and now Dhritarashtra will be formally coronated with all the rituals and traditions. Until now, he was only made the acting king, but now that his eyesight has returned, we will celebrate this occasion with great pomp and show."
After Satyavati's announcement, everyone became happy, except for the seven people who were still unaware of this news. Shakuni, Kunti, and the Pandavas were shocked. Shakuni was also happy because now his dear sister would no longer have to live with a blindfold. Indeed, Shakuni looked at Karna with a new sense of admiration.
Kunti and the Pandavas were shocked. Kunti now felt like she was losing her power. She also noticed how Vidur and Bhishma were looking at Karna with so much affection. Kunti felt that now even Bhishma and Vidur would not support her against Karna. Additionally, Kunti was worried that now Dhritarashtra, instead of her husband Pandu, would take the throne. She was concerned for her sons.
In Bhishma's arms, Karna was looking at Kunti with his shining eyes, as if he could hear all her thoughts. Karna was smiling slightly when he suddenly heard a voice from within, "Lord, do you see? Jealousy is growing with your arrival. Could this also lead to hatred?"
Karna immediately recognized the voice. It was none other than Krishna's. Hearing his deity's words, Karna replied in his mind, "Lord, only time will tell. But our aunt seems power-hungry, and our cousin brothers don't seem any less. Let's see how each one shapes their destiny."
Hearing Karna's response, Krishna also smiled slightly, while he was in Yashoda Maiyaa's arms in Brij.
Kunti couldn't bear it any longer and asked, "Rajmata, what are you saying? How did the eldest brother regain his eyesight? And when did this happen?"
Kunti seemed desperate and curious to know, and it was clearly evident in her voice.
Hearing Kunti's question, Bhishma this time replied in a stern tone, "Why, Kunti, do you have a problem with Dhritarashtra regaining his eyesight?"
Hearing Bhishma's words, Kunti realized she had revealed her true emotions in her haste. Quickly correcting her expression, she said, "That's not what I meant, 'Tatshree.' I am very happy for the eldest Brother and sister-in-law. I was just eager to know how such a miracle happened."
Bhishma didn't respond to Kunti's words, but his expression remained unchanged, which Kunti noticed and made her feel insecure.
Vidur, however, spoke up this time, extremely excited and happy. He said, "Sister-in-law, the eldest's eyesight was restored because of Karna. As soon as Karna touched his eyes with his hands, the eldest's eyesight returned. Karna has brought immense fortune and luck to our family. Our destinies will shine brighter with Karna's birth."
Vidur shared this with great joy. Seeing Vidur's happiness made Kunti feel even more insecure. Trying to hide her feelings, Kunti asked Vidur, "Vidur, how can you say this with such confidence? I mean, how do you know?"
Vidur understood Kunti's intentions very well and, recognizing her motives, replied, "Sister-in-law, have you forgotten that I can read the stars and horoscopes? Even before I checked anything, Karna's birth itself had already brightened our fortunes, and everyone saw this."
After Vidur's response, Kunti said nothing further. Everyone goes inside. The rest of them go to their respective rooms to relax. Meanwhile, Gandhari goes to her room with Karna and calls all her children into her room. Dhritarashtra also goes to his room with Gandhari.
