Mathias
14/9In the morning Eain and I both wake up late. I forgot to set the clock. Eain shakes me awake and at first it scares me because I forget that I am at Evermore. I jump up and almost fall out of bed.
"What is wrong with you this morning?" Eain asks. I pushed the bit of hair that fell into my face away.
"Yeah, I am fine. You just scared me. I forgot I was here. I thought I was at home." I get out of bed and fix the sheets back to normal. Eain is still looking at me strangely. Kerrie never used to wake me up, or at least not shake me awake. The room is dim this morning, so I go to my wardrobe and look through the clothes. There are too many clothes to decide what to wear. Honestly this is the most amount of clothes I have owned in my entire life. "I don't know what to wear?" I say still looking through the clothes. Everything looks different and so interesting to wear.
"Regular black trousers." Eain walks over to my wardrobe and opens the side with my shirts in it. "White shirt and your house pin." Simple enough outfit. I guess that is not a bad idea. There is no reason to be fancy today. I found the black trousers in the bottom of the wardrobe and the white shirt was on top. I am a little nervous to wear white, somehow things always spill on the white clothes I own and now they are no longer white. It's so annoying. I decided to keep my house things, pins, scarfs, robes, hats, ect. In a different spot. I am so glad that the school supplies the house stuff. I didn't even know that there would be houses here. This school is so strange. I take the box and find the pin. Even though I thought I had placed it on top because it's a pin, easily likeable but no. It has to be on the bottom in the corner where I didn't place it. I turn around to put the clothes on my bed. Eain is getting ready as well. I go ahead and change into my clothes.
"How late are we?" I can't see the clock, it is on the other wall. I am trying to figure out how to unclip this pin. It has a weird back that you have to push in then twist. Not easy to lose I guess?
"An hour, we probably missed breakfast, but if we hurry we can make it to class on time" Eain take's his books and looks at each cover. I assume checking if they are the correct ones, then he palaces them into his bag. I do the same. We have four books to keep with us all year. For other school I have been to this is practically nothing
"That's fine. I never liked breakfast anyway." Eain turns around and looks at me like I am crazy.
"How? Breakfast is the best meal of the day!" I just shrugged my shoulders. I can't argue with Eain because it's so stupid even though I would love to argue about the topic. Kerrie and I never eat breakfast and sometimes even lunch. Half the time we were not allowed food, it was so ridiculous. I finish getting dressed and walk out of our room. There is not much noise in the common room. It is very nice. Last night there were probably one hundred people walking all around the common room. Now not having anyone around is nice. I finally got a chance to look around. Beautiful red coloured walls line each side. Couches and tables are placed around the room. On one wall is a fireplace. I walk through the common room and leave the room. The castle outside the common room isn't as quiet. Students from different houses are running around everywhere. The other kids are laughing at the younger kids. I walk with Eain to the Great Hall. Around the room are many people. I am looking for my sister. Her friends are round at their table, but Kerrie isn't with them. Maybe she didn't come down? Or up? I don't know where her dormitory is? I think some kid said it was under the castle in the dungeons. Honestly that does sound like Kerrie's kind of place to be. She has always fancied the creepy side of things.
"Excuse me for a moment." I say to Eain and walk away from him. I go over to Kerrie's friends, I seem so awkward. One of the boys looks up at me. His eyes are black, like coal, and his hair is the same colour but his hair curls at the ends. Ara, I remember him from last night.
"Look mates, fresh blood is entering the waters." The other boys turn around, as if on cue. I straighten myself up. These kids scare me. All of them look almost dead inside.
"Do you know where Kerrie is?" I ask. My voice to me sounds like a mouse squeak.
"Why? What do you want with Kerrie? And who are you anyway?" A boy with bleach blonde hair asks me. L am seventy present sure that his name is Lovel?
"Uh, I am Mathias, Kerrie's older brother. I was wondering where she is."
"Kerrie did say she had an older brother." Isha says. They all nod at themselves. It's almost like they can read each other's minds, having a whole conversation between themselves. Creepy…well, that kinda is their brand.
"Kerrie didn't want breakfast so decided to stay in her room a bit longer." The same blonde boy says. I nod my head.
"Thanks." I don't know what else to say, a weird awkward silence comes over us. Finally, I walk away and I can hear the boys behind me talking about me. They are laughing. It's not exactly comforting to know that my sister's new friend makes fun of me, but I can do anything about it. I have never been the one for confrontation. That is more of my sister's category. A bell went off in the hall and all the students started to leave. That's the morning bell. I started off down one of the many halls on this one side of the castle to the first class of the day, Earth Magic. It sounds fun honestly. Though thankfully nothing like my old school.
