*Note: Lifeblood Vessel is referred to as just Lifeblood*

Hornet was at the City of Tears. Again. She had started visiting more often after the infection was gone, but now she was almost always there, watching the bugs and vessels rebuild and restore the capital.

She watched as Hollow lifted a huge stone pillar that Myla had carved from her pick. Little Ghost was talking to Marissa who was the only spirit he had spared. He had grown fond of her then none other, and Hornet was glad he had someone to hang out with. Hornet, however, was the antisocial one.

She wasn't hostile to most immediately, but she also didn't stick around with anyone. But all of that was about to change, as a vessel, taller than Little Ghost but shorter than her, entered the huge room through the archway.

Ghost bristled up when he saw him, and Hornet felt a twang of recognition in her too. She had seen this vessel, twice, the second time in the Ancient Basin, overrun with the infection. Now, instead of orange infection oozing out, the friendly blue aura of Lifeblood filled the room.

A cyan butterfly rested on one of his horns, another on the cocoon coming from his head. "You," said one bug, a tall, skimpy male, "Are not welcome here."

The vessel froze, but then said smartly, "Under whose authority?" "I-umm..." "Under mine, " said Hollow. Hornet poised herself to interfere. Apparently, Hollow had gotten the point from Ghost that this vessel wasn't to be trusted.

Lifeblood drew his nail out of his long tattered robes, but Hornet had already jumped down in front of them. "Hollow, it's okay. He's not infected. Ghost? She glanced at her half-brother. "Same to you. I'll...take care of this."

She led Lifeblood out of the room and, eventually, into a bench room. "You're welcome," she said, dropping onto the bench. "I don't usually get involved in stuff like that." "Well, I should thank you even more then, he said cheerfully. His voice was crisp, but still had a kind, shy atmosphere to it.

"Oh, umm, you're welcome."

"Your Hornet." His personality has changed from half-joking to serious in a second. "I know I am, she said slowly and awkwardly. "You were the only one who tried to save me. When it all started." The memory hit her like a nail. Fleeing Hallownest, hundreds of infected vengeflies, husks, and guards were swarming behind her and other vessels as they attempted to escape.

Most of them were already dead or had been infected, but not her. Hornet had been able to find one of the last surviving groups. She remembered running and then hearing one vessel cry out; her brother. She had helped him up, but at least five husks had grappled on to him and pulled him into the horde. And then, Broken Vessel was born.

As Hornet came back to herself, she saw Lifeblood had shyly stepped back as she gathered herself. She blushed as a void tear dripped down her face. "Don't cry!" Said Lifeblood frantically. "I was just saying that I had remembered-" "Lifeblood."

"Yes?"

She looked into his perfect, blue, shy eyes that she loved.

"I'm your sister."

I think this is super close, if not the same to the original one. So, thanks for reading, and I'll keep updating!
