The next day, Rogue went to Len's Video Store to see if the bag of DVDs Jake dropped had been collected. This time, Rogue was in a different set of civilian clothes with her set of yellow gloves covering her hands. The usual head cashier, Stan, was at the front. "Good morning!" Stan said enthusiastically, "there a particular DVD that you're looking for?" Rogue looked at Stan and asked, "did you happen to see a bag of DVDs get discarded due to a vehicular accident yesterday?"

"Are you referring to poor Jake Phillips Jr?" Stan asked, "because if that's who you're referring to, then yes. I got the bag when he got taken away. You're that mutant who took him to the hospital, aren't you?" Rogue shyly rubbed her arm and said, "well someone had to get him to the hospital... Ah was wondering if you still had the bag of DVDs." Stan picked up a bag and said, "as a matter of fact I do. In fact, I got Jake a free DVD on top of it. It's a DVD release of the first season to Broadchurch. If you do see Jake, tell him and his family we hope he's able to recuperate. And don't worry about those Friends of Humanity schmucks trying to attack this store because you were here. We're insured. Have a nice day!" Rogue took the bag and said, "you have a nice day yourself, hun." She left the video store and then flew away to find the hospital where she left Jake. "So Jake Phillips Jr," she said to herself, "Nice soundin' name. Now to find where he's restin', hopefully he's alive." A few minutes later, Rogue landed at the emergency room that she took Jake to, and she went inside to the receptionist's desk. "Excuse me," she said to the front receptionist, "Ah brought a young man in a flannel shirt here yesterday. Ah think his name is Jake Phillips Jr... Is he still here? Ah'd like to visit him."

"Jake Phillips Jr?" The receptionist asked, "oh yes, I believe Mr Phillips is in recovery at room AA10. It's the one on your left. We'll need you to put a wristband on to indicate that you're a visitor." After verifying that she was a visitor, Rogue went to AA10 to see if the young man she saved was there. She knocked on the door outside and asked, "can Ah come in? Ah'd like to pay a visit." She looked at the view and saw Jake sitting up on the hospital bed wearing a hospital gown and a leg cast on his right leg. With him looked to be his mother and father who were two middle aged white people wearing casual clothing, and a teenage girl who looked to be Jake's sister. Also with them was Claire Temple whom Rogue saw yesterday. Claire noticed Rogue and said, "come on in if you'd like. I guess now's a perfect time for you to meet the family of the man you saved. I was just letting Jake know how he'll be living for the next few months with the cast on his leg." Rogue came into Jake's room and asked, "so your name's Jake Phillips Jr?"

"That's right Rogue," said Jake, "I got to say, I wasn't expecting you to visit me. It's a nice surprise." He smiled at her. "Ah just wanted to see how you were doing," said Rogue, "also you dropped this yesterday." She showed the bag of DVDs to Jake and he said, "oh right! My Doctor Who DVDs! Thank you so much for getting those, Rogue!" She handed the bag to Jake as he looked at the two Doctor Who DVDs. "Please, you can call me Anna," said Rogue, "mah civilian name is Anna Marie Zann. Stan also got you a free bonus DVD. Some show called Broadchurch. Ah ain't never heard of that." Jake smiled and said, "Well thank you Anna. When I see Stan I'll be sure to thank him too. This is my family." Jake's father Jacob Phillips Sr stood up and said while shaking her gloved hand, "hello Rogue, I'm Jake's father, Jacob Phillips Sr. I work for SHIELD as human resources, so I'm actually aware of you and the X-Men. This is my wife Rosalind and Jake's sister Lisa. I personally want to thank you for saving our son."

"You're welcome," said Rogue, "It's nice to meet y'all. And Ah'm especially glad to know that you're alright for the most part, Jake."

"Well thank you for your concern Anna," said Jake, "it might not be easy having to have a leg cast and use a wheelchair for the next few weeks or months, but I'm sure I can get through it." Rogue rubbed her arm and said, "Ah found the guy who ran you over. He's in jail now." Jake's mother Rosalind said, "that's good to hear. I got a feeling we're going to have to testify against him eventually. But I guess we'll worry about that later." Jake cleared his throat and asked, "hey Anna, if you're not busy saving the day with the X-Men, would you want to hang out sometime? Maybe exchange numbers?" He blushed saying that, but he wasn't sure whether he would see Rogue again. Rogue smiled and said, "Ah would like that. Ah guess we can exchange numbers. Anyone got a black marker?" Claire handed Rogue a black marker, and she wrote Jake's phone number on his leg cast. Jake's sister Lisa got out a piece of paper and Jake wrote his phone number on the paper, giving it to Rogue. "Thanks sugah," said Rogue, "Now you focus on rehabilitatin', ya hear?"

"Yes ma'am," promised Jake as he smiled at Rogue. He really liked the southern belle, whether she felt the same about him, he didn't know.
