Special Chapter C: Adams Past
At the magic show, Splat and Derek are just about to wrap up the show. They perform one last trick.
With a random Lucario picked from the audience:
Derek: - Now, I'll stand right under this anvil you see hanging just above my head. Gets into position under the anvil. As you can all see, I have a bunch of levers beside me. Most of these are duds, but one will drop that anvil. Splat will shuffle the colors of his rings to match the colors of these levers. They will each be different colors, but one of them will always be the color that matches the lever that drops the anvil. What our volunteer here will do is, while blindfolded, he will select which color lever I have to pull by pointing at one ring on Splat's body.
Splat: - Ties a blindfold around the Lucario's eyes. Are you ready?
Male Lucario: - Yes
Derek: - And I too am ready. Now let's begin.
Splat: - Shuffles the colors of his rings. After a bit he stops and each ring matches one of the 5 colors to pick. Ok, sir. You may select...now.
Male Lucario: - Uses his aura sense to feel around Splat for his rings, then tries to make out which colors are on each ring. I chooooooooose...this one. Points to Splat's left ear
Splat: - Ok, that's blue.
Derek: - Blue one, got it. Pulls the Blue one.
Everyone waits for a few seconds, then they all sigh in relief.
Derek: - Ok. One down, three to go.
Splat: - Shuffles his ring colors again. You may pick again... Stops Now
Male Lucario: - Again uses his aura sense to feel for Splat's ring Let's go with... this one. Points to the one on the right segment of Splat's split tail.
Splat: - Green
Derek: - Flips the lever, and..................nothing Halfway
Splat: - Shuffles again Pick now Stops
Male Lucario: - Picks fast Here Points to his forehead ring
Splat: - Yellow
Derek: - Flips the Yellow lever. Nothing happens 50/50 chance
Splat: - Shuffles again. You may pick now. Stops them all on the same color, but unknown to the Lucario, they're all the color that triggers the drop
Male Lucario: - Let's go with this one. Chooses the one on Splat's left wrist
Derek: - Uses enough Psychic to keep the anvil in the air, but not enough to cause his gem to glow
Splat: - It's red
Derek: - Ok. Flips the lever, and nothing happens
Splat: - You may take off your blindfold
Male Lucario: - Well, it seems I got it right
Splat: - That it would
Derek: - Yeah, I'm honestly glad you didn't flip the gray one. Turns around to walk towards the Lucario, but bumps his tail into the last lever, "accidentally" flipping it. Also lets go of the anvil as he flips it. That would've been lights out for me- Slam -OOOWWWW!!! Sees that the anvil landed on his tail Ah, that hurt
Splat: - Seems the cat isn't as nimble as they say.
Derek: - Huh?
Male Lucario: - What?
