The next day was exactly what Taylor thought it was going to be. The tabloids were going insane over the interaction between the soccer star and world renowned singer. Tree had already given Taylor three calls asking more than fifteen million questions.
"How did you even meet her?"
"You could've warned me!" Was something else she heard through the phone. Tree meant well, but in all seriousness, her job became ten times harder when Taylor was spotted with a potential significant other. She had to filter through countless emails, and monitor the social media accounts.
Besides Tree's badgering, and the raging headache, Taylor would say she was pretty okay right now. The singer was still replaying it in her head. Emmaline made everyone else go away, and made Taylor feel like it was just them in the room.
The girl giggled to herself softly, playing with her necklace softly. Reaching for her phone, she looked at the picture she took of Emmaline's jersey last week. She giddily typed the numbers into her phone, and sent a quick text.
'Hey Stephen', It read. Taylor shut off her phone quickly like a scared teenager after texting a crush. What shocked Taylor was the buzzing that came from her phone only twenty seconds later. Taylor hugged her knees to her chest, debating if she should even look at it. What if it wasn't even Emmaline? What if she typed in the wrong number?
After two minutes of developing negative scenarios, she flipped her phone over. Emmaline had texted her back.
'Oh so that's our thing now?'
Taylor couldn't contain her smile as she giggled to herself once again. This made Taylor throw her phone down. She couldn't be doing this. She just met this girl a week ago. And she was already giggling over a six worded message?
Not wanting to leave the girl on read, she opened her phone back up and typed up a quick response.
'Our Song'
'Clever Ms. Swift'
Taylor rolled her eyes at the formality, a smile still covering her face. Taylor assumed that would be the end of the conversation, but when another text came through, butterflies erupted in her stomach.
'Dinner? Friday?'
Taylor immediately closed out of the Messages app and pulled up her call list. Hitting Gigi's name, she let the phone ring before the model picked up.
"Gigi."
"Taylor."
"She asked me out on a date. Or at least I think it's a date. Maybe it's not. Maybe it's a friendly thing. I don't really know. Oh gosh what if she's just being-"
"Taylor. Shut up." Gigi said sternly. "Read me the message."
"Dinner, question mark, Friday, question mark."
"You know after all these boyfriends you've had, no offense, I'd assume you'd be better at reading the room. She's totally asking you out!" Taylor smiled at Gigi's words. "What did you say back?"
"Nothing."
"Oh so you left her on read. Real good Taylor." Gigi had a point.
"Shit." Taylor put Gigi on speaker before returning to the Messages app. Opening up her and Emmaline's conversation, she typed back 'yes'. Emmaline read the message immediately.
'Perfect. I'll pick you up at seven'
"Oh gosh. I'm going on a date. Gigi I have a date!"
"This is amazing. I take full credit for this if you two get married okay?"
