Through the busy halls of Welton Academy, a bunch of students were saying tearful goodbyes to their parents. You couldn't blame them. They were going to be away from their parents for almost a whole year.
On their way to their rooms, Neil and Peyton run into the principal, Mr. Nolan. Neil glances at Peyton.
"Hello, Mr. Perry." The guy says.
"Hello, Mr. Nolan." Neil replies to him.
"You must be Peyton. I'm Mr. Nolan, and I will be your principal." Mr. Nolan introduces himself, sticking out his hand.
"It's nice to meet you. Thank you for allowing me to come study at Welton, Mr. Nolan." Peyton says politely, shaking his hand.
"I hope you enjoy your stay. Have a good day, you two." Mr. Nolan says before walking off.
"He looks like a real hard ass." The blonde says to her brother, a playful smile on her face.
"Ha! Yeah, he is." Neil says, smiling at his sister. Neil nudges her on the shoulder in a playful manner.
"My room's right down here if you need me. See you later." Neil says, hugging his sister.
"Will do. See you later, Neil." She says, letting go of the hug.
Peyton then makes her way to her room. When she gets there, she starts to unpack. While unpacking, she hears footsteps.
"Well, hello there, beautiful." A male voice says.
When Peyton turns around, she's met with a tall guy. She takes in the guys appearance. He was brown eyes, dark brown hair, and a side part.
"Hello." The blonde responds to the guy.
"Charlie Dalton." He says, reaching out his hand.
Shit. She thinks to herself. Charlie Dalton. Neil had told Peyton about all of his friends, and well, Charlie didn't seem like the best person. Neil says he's a huge flirt, which is pretty obvious by now.
"Peyton Perry." The girl says, shaking his hand.
"You're Neil's sister, are you?" The boy says hearing her last name.
"I am." She says. She turns around to finish unpacking.
"Are we going to be roommates?" Peyton asks the boy.
"I do believe so, yes." Charlie replies.
Peyton is about to open her mouth when someone else speaks.
"Charlie, you're in the the wrong room." The voice speaks.
When Peyton turns around, she's met with a redhead in her doorway.
"Damn, you just had to ruin it. Didn't you, Meeks?" Charlie asks the redhead.
"Yep, sorry. You do have to let Pitts stay here. In his assigned room." The redhead named Meeks says. He turns to the blonde girl.
"Steven Meeks." The redhead says, holding out his hand to the girl.
"Peyton Perry." The blonde says, shaking Meeks' hand with a smile.
"Hey, Meeks... Is there some sort of party goin' on in here?" Another guy asks. This guy also has brown hair, and brown eyes. He turns to the girl.
"Who are you? And why are you in my room?" The boy asks Peyton curiously. Before she can answer him, Meeks does.
"That's your roommate, Pitts." Meeks tells the boy named Pitts. Weird name. Peyton thinks to herself.
Peyton obviously didn't hide her expression hearing his name, seeming as Pitts gave her the same weird look back, but in a mocking way.
"Well, nice to meet you, roommate. I'm Gerard Pitts." He says with a smile on his face, reaching a hand out to the girl.
"Nice to meet you too, Pitts. I'm Peyton Perry." The girl says, shaking his hand with a smile on her face.
"I think you'd love Knox." Meeks says to the girl.
"Who's Knox?" The blonde asks.
"Oh, you'll see him eventually." He tells her.
"Oh.." Peyton replies. Ok, what? Is all she can think to herself. Who is Knox, and why would I like him?
"Are you Neil's sister?" Pitts asks her.
"Yes, I am." Peyton replies to him.
"I thought so. You guys have the same eyes." He tells her.
"They also have the same last name, dumbass." Meeks tells him.
"Right.." Pitts says awkwardly. Peyton smiles, obviously amused by the interaction.
"Why are you guys harassing this poor girl?" Another redhead asks as he enters the doorway.
"She's Neil's sister!" Meeks exclaims at the other redhead, a big smile on his face.
"Ok, and?" He asks. He turns to look at the girl.
"Richard Cameron. Nice to meet you." He says, introducing himself to her.
"Peyton Perry. Nice to meet you too." She introduces herself to the other redhead, not smiling him.
I already don't like him. He looks stuck-up. Peyton thinks to herself. She looks away from him.
"Ok. Let's go!" Meeks says awkwardly.
"We'll leave you two to unpack." Meeks continues, pointing at Peyton and Pitts. She nods at him, a small smile on her face.
Now it's just her and Pitts. Peyton walks over to her bed. She pulls out a journal titled "My Poetry ♡"
"You write?" Pitts asks her, noticing the journal.
"Yeah, sometimes." She says, a small smile on her face.
"That's cool." He replies, smiling at the girl. There's an awkward stillness in the air, and neither of them liked that.
"I'm gonna go.." They both say at the same time, making it even more awkward.
As Pitts leaves the room, Peyton makes a mental note to herself. He's very awkward. The girl goes to walk out of her room, when she hits something. Or rather, someone.
"I am so sorry..!" Peyton tells the person. When she looks up, she's met with a boy with blonde hair and glasses
"No, I'm sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." The boy says. Peyton goes to say something else, but he walks off, leaving Peyton very confused.
