episode 356 — kaito kid's miraculous midair walk

Tapping her foot to the beat of a song, Suzume leaned against the wall of the movie theater with her hands tucked into her pockets and a bored look on her face. Sonoko had invited her and Ran out to see the screening of a movie she had been anxious to see, but Suzume backed out, saying she needed to look into something.

The concerned look Ran gave her told her that she knew what she meant.

Shuichi had filled in Suzume about Ran's involvement during the confrontation with Vermouth, and she was very upset that her girlfriend had gotten herself involved. The feeling didn't stick around for very long when she realized she was being a hypocrite thinking that, considering the fact that she threw herself into danger all the time and she had informed Ran about the Black Organization earlier. Really, she's surprised Ran didn't get involved earlier on.

"Suzume!"

The teenager looked up to see a smiling Ran and a grumpy Sonoko walking over to her.

"I thought you couldn't make it," Ran continued.

"I got done early and figured I'd meet up with you guys when the movie was done to hear about it," Suzume explained as they walked down the sidewalk. "And, Sonoko, why do you look so grumpy? You wanted to see this thief movie, right?"

"But... Part one was really good, so I expected this one to be even better," Sonoko said, slumping forward in disappointment. "But, they're just doing the same thing over again?! Talk about a meaningless part two!"

"I see," Ran hummed. "I kind of enjoyed it."

"Kind of isn't good enough!" Sonoko argued passionately.

Most sequels are like that, Suzume thought with a thin smile.

Sonoko sighed. "How I wish that somewhere, an incident so incredible would make my heart beat so badly that it would erase all the sounds around me!"

"Sonoko..."

Suzume frowned. Come to think of it, he's been pretty quiet lately.

"Hey, wait!"

Sonoko's yell caught Suzume's attention as a man ran off with her purse. She sighed and shook her head. "Wait here. I'll be back!"

With that, she took off running after the thief with Ran and Sonoko chasing after them. The engine of a motorcycle filled the air and, "Go get him, Lupin!"

A dog leapt from the passenger's car on the motorcycle and onto the thief, ending the chase.

"That hurt."

The driver of the motorcycle dug his elbow into the back of the thief's neck as he was pinned to the ground. "How dare you snatch the bag of a fragile lady? I'm going to write about you in a corner of my biography."

"That hurt!"

"Hey, young lady, hurry and contact the police, please," the man said to Ran.

"Yes. Thank you." Ran crouched down next to the dog. "Thank you, doggy."

The dog let out a bark.

"Well, even if Lupin here were to let him get away, with my Ultra Classic 1500 cc Twin Cam model, he could never have gotten away anyway," the man said, lifting up his goggles and looking over at his motorcycle. "If the situation calls for it, I have a speed-up function rigged to this motorcycle too." He laughed.
