All my life, I never loved anyone else but Avery. She was the perfect woman for me, she was smart, loving, beautiful. She was the girl every guy wanted, with her everything felt light.
Until she died in a car crash that killed both her and our baby. I suffered for 2 years when Avery died, I knew I couldn't live on without her.
"Aire."
Nilingon ko si Luxiana. She was my second wife, she was extremely gorgeous but she did not live up to Avery. She was half-greek kaya her beauty was astounding.
"Yes, Luxiana?" I asked once she called on me.
"Narito na ang mga magulang mo."
Tumango ako at sinabi sa kaniya na mauna. Once I arrived, Mom looked pissed at me. She was examining Luxiana when I came.
"Lux, can you get me a glass of water?" Dad said kaya tumango si Luxiana.
"Aire, this is disastrous." Mom said as I sat down. "The poor girl has suffered enough from your on-going rant about Avery's death. Let the woman rest in peace!"
"No!" Sigaw ko. "If you think na marrying me off to some woman you met in the subdivision is going to make me forget about Avery then you thought wrong."
Lahat kami ay napalingon when we heard a sharp gasp. I quickly massaged my temple when I saw Luxiana. She didn't need to hear that.
"Luxiana-."
"Pupunta na ako sa kuwarto ko. Marami pa akong trabaho." She placed the glass on the coffee table and went to her room.
I never shared a room with Luxiana.
"Fix your attitude, Aire. I will not hesitate to kick you out of my company and remove you from my will."
Umalis sila kaya sinubukan kong kausapin si Luxiana. She was crying so hard when I was about to knock on her door.
I always swore to never make a girl cry. It was the least I wanted to do to a woman.
I know she feels the love is never in our marriage but I can't let go of Avery yet.
"Luxiana?"
She opened the door while drying her eyes. I knew I did that to her.
"Yes? Sorry, kailangan ko kasing tapusin yung trabaho ko." She said.
"Sorry, hindi mo dapat narinig ang mga nasabi ko."
Tumango siya at tumahimik.
"That's all." I said kaya sinara na niya ang pinto.
I went to the cemetery that night to sleep on Avery's grave. I miss you so much, mahal.
Ilang araw na akong natutulog sa sementeryo. I didn't think that Luxiana would mind, she understood naman.
I came home one night to find the maids whispering in the kitchen.
"Nakakaawa si Ma'am Luxiana ano?" Manang Ester said.
"Oo nga po eh, isipin mo siya na nga lang ang natutulog dito sa bahay namatay pa yung baby nila ni sir Aire."
Natigil ako when they said that.
"Naku, dalhin mo na iyan kay Ma'am Luxiana baka nagugutom na iyon." Manang Ester said. "Buong araw pa naman siyang hindi kumakain."
"Sir!" Polly yelled when she saw me. "Sir, kakain po kayo?"
Tinitigan ko ang tray na hawak niya saka umiling. Luxiana ate fruits? I thought she disliked them.
"Bakit may apple diyan? Luxiana hates fruits."
Klea said kaya napatango ako.
"Oh.. sige bring that to Luxiana."
I sat down while Manang Ester placed a plate of fruits on the table.
"Kumain po kayo, bukas niyo na po kausapin si Ma'am Luxiana."
