I survived yet another history class with Mr. Tanner. In fact, today's star was Stefan who managed to flawlessly answer every question the teacher had about the years when important historical events happened. In the end, he received a round of applause from the class while Mr. Tanner was left speechless and grumpy because in fact he got one year wrong unlike his student.

But as I had discovered during my short stay here in Mystic Falls, high schools were very active when it came to social events. First, there was the party by the woods. Second, the night of the comet. And now, everyone was excitedly preparing for the upcoming football game. Apparently, it was something a normal student would never miss in their life so I felt obligated to go.

When I first arrived, the sun was still up but soon the light switched to darkness and now the game was starting soon while Mr. Tanner had a speech as he was standing on a small podium with the school's football team by his side. He praised Stefan and he was fully expecting our school to win with the new talented addition. Stefan's success didn't even surprise me because it was much easier to win when you were a vampire with supernatural abilities like super-speed or super-strength. And Stefan had both of those and a lot more.

Suddenly, people's cheers died down when the sounds of a fight joined them. Everyone wanted to see what was happening, including me, so I followed the crowd and noticed two boys fighting. Vicki was standing near them, telling them to stop but neither of them listened. One of the fighters was Tyler – the boy who was shamelessly flirting with me at the party by the woods. The one who reminded me of him.

Then Stefan rushed toward them as he pulled Tyler away. For that he earned himself a punch in the stomach but it didn't even fade him. Carefully I looked around to see if anyone found it suspicious but they seemed to be swallowing every second of this adrenaline. However, Jeremy wasn't done and he raised a piece of a broken bottle. Before anyone could stop him he attacked Tyler with it but instead he slashed Stefan's hand. Gasps could be heard in the crowd. Even I flinched. But I was the only one who knew that Stefan was completely okay. Even if the glass shred cut through his skin, it would heal in a matter of seconds.

Suddenly I felt something warm by my leg. With confusion I looked down and I got startled even more when I spotted a small flame. Did no one else notice it? I didn't know how much time had passed while I kept my eyes glued on it but the moment someone bumped into me I lost my concentration as I remembered where I was. I raised my head. Some of the people already found the lack of fight boring so they scurried away to discover more exciting programs. I looked back down but there was no flame. Could it be only an eye illusion? Maybe it was only a reflection I saw. That was the only explanation I could come up with.
