It was a new day.

Ever since Dad announced we would be leaving Mystic Falls, I hadn't gotten any new information about it. Should I already start packing up my things? Should I even say goodbye to the people I had met here?

I decided to pull out my suitcase just to be sure in case we'd need to hurry. I checked the clock on the wall and realized I still had a lot of time before I'd need to depart. But there was another place I wanted to visit before leaving Mystic Falls for good.

Once I arrived at Bonnie's grandma's house, I rang the bell and patiently waited for the door to open. When she did I noticed that she had already dressed up despite the early hour. My original plan was to say goodbye to her and tell her that I would be leaving soon but when she invited me in and started to tell me how much she thought I had improved over the couple of days, I couldn't make myself do it. She even agreed to teach me some basic spells during this short period of time.

So I stayed.

I attempted to move some objects with my powers and surprisingly it even worked. In fact, it was easier than I would've thought. I managed to light up a candle too and she mentioned a trick that could help me protect myself from a vampire by giving him a very strong headache.

By the time we finished and I got to school, the bell had already rung and I was late for the lesson but I didn't mind. However, I actively avoided talking to Elena and Bonnie. They both saw me there that night and they didn't know who I really was to Damon. In addition, I didn't even know how much information about me Stefan shared with Elena. Did she believe I was a living blood bag for him to feed on? Or did Stefan share his suspicions about me with her?

As soon as the school day ended, I hurried out of the building without saying anything. Maybe this was one of the last times I was exiting it. And then I'd never step into it again. By then, I would have started a new life somewhere else. Dad would learn to live with the thought of never finding his long lost love and I would learn to live without a motherly figure. After all, I'd been doing it for the past sixteen years.

But when I got into Dad's car, another surprise was awaiting me when he pushed a familiar compass into my hands. Then he started the engine and drove away.

"Where are we going?" I questioned, noticing he wasn't taking the usual turns.

"There's a new vampire in town and we need to find him," he revealed.
