Y/n's POV

Me and the girls met up for lunch the day after our crazy night. We were recovering from our hangover and eating some of the finest food in London.

"Where was Mia last night?" my friend Caitlin had asked as she sipped on her natural raspberry lemonade.

"She messaged me saying she hooked up with some guy" I shrugged and dug into my large beef burger - I was ravenous. We continued to eat for a while until a girl approached us.

"Mia!" Caitlin looked up from her meal and shuffled along to allow her to sit down. "We thought you bailed on us"

"Haha no" she laughed. "I was hooking up with some cute guy" she winked.

"Told you so" I laughed.

"Where's Ella?" Asked Mia.

"Who cares about her - who's the footballer?!" Caitlin was desperate to know.

"Well..." Mia paused with a smirk. "He plays for England"

"Is it Jude?" Caitlin immediately asked. She shook her head.

"Grealish?" I asked.

"Declan Rice!"

"John stones?"

"Don't be ridiculous- was it Phil?"

"I bloody hope not. I bet it was Kane... or Maguire"

"Haha no it was definitely Mason Mount"

"Wrong, wrong, wrong" Mia was giggling to herself. "Do you want me to tell you?"

"Yes!" Caitlin and I said in union.

"Cole Palmer" she said proudly. My heart dropped.

"Oh Mia no" Caitlin's head was in her hands. "Out of all the England players?"

"Have you seen him?"

"Unfortunately"

As the two talked, I couldn't listen. How was it possible? Did he know? He must've known they were friends, why else would he do it? Revenge?

"Y/n?" Mia asked, concerned. I looked up and smiled.

"I zoned out" I lied. I couldn't tell her that Cole Palmer slept with her to hurt me. Caitlin frowned and shrugged.

"So Ella's in Timor Leste" she sighed, changing the conversation.

"Why?" We both asked in unison.

"She said it sounded fun" she shrugged. Ella had tendencies to visit "fun" countries and finding a way to get nearly kidnapped or murdered or deported.

"I'm not questioning it" Mia went to go order herself a pizza and Pepsi max cherry.

"Y/n" Caitlin waited until Mia was far enough away.

"No" I shook my head.

"I'm sure he didn't know"

"He did know Caitlin. He must've" I kept my head down staring at my plate.

He must've known.
