Cole's POV

I regretted arguing with Phil after I saw Y/n. I had a few drinks after we talked and confronted Phil.

"His sisters a bitch" I recalled telling Jack.

"A bitch eh?" Jack was way too drunk for the conversation and therefore told Phil.

"My sisters a bitch?" He confronted me not long after.

"Fuck off Phil" I could hardly remember what happened next other then it sort of broke out into a physical fight.

I woke up the next morning with the left side of my face bruised and hurting like hell. "Fucks sake Phil" I muttered to myself as I walked over the bathroom to clean myself up.

I looked like a mess. My face was puffy and swollen in parts, my hair was ruffled and I stank of alcohol.

After a quick shower, I looked better than before and I slipped out of my hotel room to go to the local Lidl. I was hoping wearing a hoodie and sunglasses would disguise myself but the second I stepped of the room, I saw y/n leaving her room - her door opposite mine.

"Cole?" She looks frightened for a moment as she saw my face but quickly changed her expression to seem more angry. "Did Phil do that?"

"Probably" I shrugged and slipped the sunglasses into my pocket.

"He rang me last night and interrupted the red wedding" she sighed. I only knew about the red wedding because she would never shut up about game of thrones and I always listened to her.

"I hope it wasn't when Rob Stark was killed" I joked and she smiled for a brief second.

"Just before that"

"Look I'm sorry, I said some shit... I really shouldn't have" I apologised.

"I don't understand why you both hate one another? You were best friends"

"We had an argument" I didn't want to get into it. She couldn't know what the argument was truly about.

"No shit Sherlock" she rolled her eyes. "I know there's more to it than just calling me a whore, it just doesn't add up." When I stayed quiet, she sighed once more "I'd appreciate it if one day one of you could just tell me" and with that she walked off down the hallway. I paused for a brief moment and watched her walk.

August 2023

"Hey Phil" I pulled him aside to talk in private whilst everyone was outside partying.

"What's up" he took a sip of his beer.

"I wanted to ask you, would it be ok if I asked y/n to be my girlfriend?" I was upfront with him, I didn't see any point in avoiding the question. The colour drained from his face immediately.

"Seriously?" he sounded angry.

"What do you mean seriously?" I was confused.

"Fuck off mate" he jumped up off the couch and began to make his way outside. I grabbed his wrist and held him back.

"Why are you so pissed?" I asked.

"She's my sister Cole. I don't want her dating... someone like you"

"Someone like me?" I let go of his wrist.

"Cole I didn't mean it like that, I meant-"

"Oh no I know exactly what you mean" I slapped the bottle of beer out of his hand and stormed out of the house. I heard him shout multiple expletives at me but I ignored him.

Y/n 🌷

"Hey"
"Can we talk?"

She had read my message but didn't reply. I walked back into the house staring at the message on my phone when she slammed into me, crying.

"Y/n are you alright?" I asked, trying to help her up but she shoved me away.

"Leave me the fuck alone Cole" she got herself up and pushed past me.

"What the fuck?" I muttered to myself. Then I saw Phil, angrier than before with a new bottle of beer. "What's this about Phil?"

"Who said it had anything to do with you?" He was near to shouting.

"Can't be a coincidence?" I walked towards him. "What did you say to her?"

"Oh just that your a pussy"

"Don't lie Phil" I looked down at him and he looked up at me.

"I told her what you told me once" he said coldly. "That she's a slut and a whore"

"I was drunk"

"You see Cole, being drunk brings out the truth"

I didn't know what to say, so instead I turned around and left the party.
