The session was about to end in 10 minutes

The session was about to end in 10 minutes. Business Maths is a subject where I can feel tired for eternity. But, as per Asad, we must start from the very first chapter. He didn't tell me or point it out.

It's just that he starts with page no. 9 here, that are the basic derivatives and formulas of the chapter. We worked all formula derivatives. And also exercise problems. 4 subdivisions have been solved by him, while I was just tailing him and trying my best to understand.

"The sums I've assigned to you must not be that tricky if you paid attention. Complete your business maths work sums by tomorrow. The whole exercise, along with the sums I attained. Is that clear?" He regards me with a look I could not find in me to defy, so I nod in obedience.

"Words, Ms. Shareef? I didn't hear you." I replied hastily, "Yeah, sure, Asad."

"Now, we have 15 minutes for this session to end. Accounts assignment, I assume you've completed that. Where is it?" With that sentence, my stomach dropped to pits.

And what does he mean by 15 minutes! Oops, my watch is a little bit fast due to my mom's punctuality training. So, I have no way to escape. I give him my notebook and pretend to check something in my bag.

"Your common terms resemble books definitions, Ms. Shareef. Isn't that a good thing? Or should I say exactly what has been imprinted in your text book." I'm shivering, dawg. What in the falooda?

"Umm, actually... I was umm... that I was..."Do you wish to complete the sentence surely within the next hour? But, I'm not available for that long." I snap my head in a fast turn, I'm afraid it will break.

"Ms. Shareef, I asked you something. Now, would you like to answer me? Rest assured, I won't move until you do." He is enjoying this, that sadistic drawl in his voice and that glint when you find someone guilty as charged.

It better be imagination of my little brain. He slowly rises from his chair, I could sense him behind me, "I. Said. Answer."

"I just got curious and wanted to take a glance at the textbook. But as I finished referring to it, I got confused. So, I decided to memorize and write the definitions from the material itself."

"And you thought I'd not find out. And you doubted my capabilities in this regard. Am I right, Ms. Shareef?" I was caught off guard with that accusation. I turned around to tell him that he was wrong, but as I did, words seemed to be strange to me.

He was just mere inches away from me. If he gets any closer, I may feel him warm breath on me. We are standing that close to each other. What happened, Ms. Shareef? Deny my accusations. You thought I wouldn't find, didn't you?" His voice carries a promise.

A promise that carries a darkness with it dares me to lie. "I did not deny your accusations, Asad. I don't deny it at all. I know I did wrong. I apologize for doubting your capabilities, but I was curious. But I'd never lie to you or to anyone for that matter."
