Jimin: MOM !!
The air crackled with tension as Mrs. Park cut her son off mid-sentence. Jimin nervously lowered his head, bracing himself for his mother to spill the beans about his mafia life and his inability to confess his love.
"Let me finish this," Mrs. Park declared, glaring at Jimin.
Just as she was about to reveal everything, Mr. Park's phone shattered the tense silence. He hurriedly answered the call, a frown etching his features as he recognized Taehyung's number.
"Yes, dear? What?!" Mr. Park exclaimed, his voice laced with alarm.
Jimin's adrenaline spiked at the sound of his father's reaction. What could Taehyung have said to elicit such a response? Mr. Park glanced at Jimin, instructing him to wait in his office before turning back to his wife, who now looked visibly tense.
Y/N, completely lost in the whirlwind of revelations, blurted out, "What happened? Why did they leave?"
"Their work is calling, Y/N," Mrs. Park offered vaguely, her eyes heavy with a burden she couldn't quite explain.
Y/N's confusion deepened. She looked at her mother-in-law, whose sigh spoke volumes about the secrets Y/N was desperately trying to unravel. Mrs. Park, clearly torn, wished for a way to shield Y/N from the harsh realities of their world.
"It might be a secret mission in progress," Mrs. Park offered, choosing her words carefully.
Y/N's voice trembled as she whispered, "A mission? Like last time?"
A kaleidoscope of images flooded her mind - the brutal fight, Jimin's wounds, his web of lies, the unexpected girlfriend...
Before she could delve deeper into her thoughts, Mrs. Park spoke again, her voice laced with a newfound determination. "Y/N, listen to me. My son loves you deeply. I know he needs time to confess his feelings, and I apologize for having to tell you this myself. Hyejin manipulated you. She's been obsessed with Jimin since childhood, but he never reciprocated those feelings."
Y/N felt the ground crumble beneath her. She'd been a fool, believing his lies. He loved her? There was no affair? But then...
"She was your father-in-law's business partner's daughter," Mrs. Park explained. "Hyejin and her entire family were frauds and schemers. They aimed to eliminate your father-in-law and take over our mafia business. Thankfully, their plan failed - the Chois are dead. Hyejin, however, was studying abroad at the time and escaped the consequences."
A wave of betrayal washed over Y/N. All this time, he'd been living a lie, and she'd been blissfully unaware. He loved her, but...
"She was obsessed," Mrs. Park continued, her voice filled with a hint of pity. "She proposed to Jimin countless times, but he always rejected her. When you married him, she couldn't bear it. That's when she started manipulating you. You see, Y/N, you were a pawn in her game. My son has only ever loved one woman in his life, and that's you. Please forgive him, truly-"
Just then, a yell cut through the air. "Mom!" It was Jimin, calling from his father's office.
Hope glimmered in Mrs. Park's eyes as she rushed towards the sound. Y/N, her mind swirling with a million unanswered questions, could only stare after them. All she wanted right now was to confront Jimin, to understand the truth behind his actions.
