The grand doors of the Jeon mansion creaked open as Jeon Jungkook stepped inside, exhaustion weighing heavily on his broad shoulders. The faint hum of classical music played in the background, but it did little to ease his tension. The chandelier above cast a golden glow across the spacious living room, but despite the warmth, Jungkook felt nothing but coldness creeping into his heart.

After a long day at JJK Enterprises, dealing with endless meetings, arrogant business rivals, and cutthroat negotiations, he had hoped for some peace. But the moment he saw his mother, Jeon Hana, sitting on the pristine white couch with an all-too-familiar determined look on her face, he knew trouble awaited him.
He tried to walk past her, heading straight toward the grand staircase that led to his room, but her voice stopped him.
"Jungkook, can we talk?"
His jaw tightened. Not again.
Reluctantly, he turned and sat on the couch across from her, keeping his expression unreadable. He was in no mood for another lecture about his life.
"I'm hoping this is important," he said, his tone devoid of warmth.
His mother sighed, her fingers fidgeting with the hem of her dress. "I finalized a girl for you."
Jungkook's dark eyes flickered with irritation. "What?"
"Her name is Lee Ara. She’s a 25-year-old businesswoman, successful, beautiful, and from a well-respected family. I think she’s perfect for you."
Silence hung between them like a thick, suffocating fog. Jungkook's grip on the armrest of the couch tightened, his patience wearing thin.
Then, with a bitter chuckle, he leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "How many times have I told you not to interfere in my life?" His voice was sharp, cutting through the tension like a blade.
His mother flinched but held her ground. "I just want you to be happy, Jungkook. You've been alone for too long—"
"You lost the right to decide my happiness eight years ago," he interrupted coldly. His eyes, once warm and full of life, now held a darkness that sent chills down his mother's spine.
Without another word, Jungkook stood up and turned on his heel, heading upstairs. He slammed the door to his room shut, finally shutting out the world.
Restless Night
The moment Jungkook was alone, he let out a long breath, pressing his fingers against his temples.
The dimly lit room, with its towering bookshelves, large mahogany desk, and king-sized bed covered in expensive black sheets, felt suffocating tonight.
