Taehyung sat in his dimly lit apartment, his sharp eyes fixated on the wall covered with Jungkook’s photos. The weight of time pressed on him—24 hours. It had been 24 hours since he last saw Jungkook, and the silence was suffocating. He had memorized every detail of those photographs, but they weren’t enough. Every few minutes, he checked his phone, his fingers itching to dial Jungkook’s number. But he couldn’t. Jungkook didn’t even know he existed—not yet.
Then, suddenly, his phone rang.
Taehyung snatched it up without hesitation, his heart slamming against his ribs. “What is it?” His voice was sharp, impatient.
Felix’s voice came through the speaker. “Jungkook’s in Japan.”
For a moment, Taehyung just sat there, frozen. Japan? His mind raced. Why? When did he leave? Who is he with? His fingers tightened around the phone. The thought of Jungkook being in another country, surrounded by unfamiliar people, possibly someone else, made his stomach churn with possessive rage.

But just as he confirmed the payment, another thought struck him—the family dinner.
Felix had forced him into it. Dowoon was expecting him. He knew his twin would never let this slide.
Gritting his teeth, Taehyung quickly dialed Dowoon’s number. The phone barely rang twice before his brother picked up.
“Taehyung?” Dowoon’s voice was laced with cautious hope. “Are you really coming tomorrow?”
Taehyung exhaled sharply. “Move the dinner to lunch. I have things to do at night.”
A pause. Then, “Things? Like what?”
Taehyung’s fingers curled around the edge of his desk. “Business.”
