A Change of Plans
Taehyung's eyes gazed fixedly at the wall adorned with Jungkook's photos, his frustration mounting with each passing hour. It had been 24 hours since he last saw Jungkook, and the uncertainty of when he would return was eating away at him. He had been checking his phone every few minutes, hoping for a message or a call from Jungkook, but there was only silence.
Just then, his phone rang, breaking the silence. He answered, his heart racing as he heard the news: Jungkook was in Japan. Taehyung's mind raced with questions. What was Jungkook doing in Japan? Was he there for work or pleasure? And most importantly, when would he return?Without hesitation, Taehyung booked a ticket for the next night's flight to Japan. He couldn't bear the thought of being away from Jungkook for another day. But then, he remembered the family dinner scheduled for tomorrow. Felix had been adamant that he attend, and Taehyung knew he couldn't back out now.
He dialed Dowoon's number, his mind racing with a new plan. When Dowoon answered, Taehyung blurted out his request: "Can we do family lunch instead? I have something to do at night."
Dowoon's voice was laced with a mix of happiness and apprehension. "Ok, no problem. But are you sure you're coming, Taehyung? You won't change your mind?"
Taehyung's response was curt. "I'll be there. Don't worry."
He hung up the call, his mind already shifting gears to the next step in his plan. He started packing his bags, his heart racing with excitement. He was going to Japan, and nothing was going to stop him.
But as he packed, he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was making a mistake. He was choosing Jungkook over his family, again. And what if Jungkook never fell in love with me? What if he loves someone else ?
Taehyung pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand. He was going to Japan, and he was going to make sure that Jungkook knew how he felt.
As he finished packing, he took one last look at the photos on the wall. He knew that this was just the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one that would be filled with ups and downs. But he was ready for it, as long as Jungkook was by his side.
An Awkward Reunion
Taehyung stood at the door, his heart racing with anxiety. It had been two years since he left home at the age of 16, and now, at 18, he was finally returning. But it wasn't by choice. Felix had convinced him to attend family lunch, and Taehyung had reluctantly agreed.
He rang the doorbell, and his father opened the door. The awkwardness was palpable. Taehyung's voice was cold as he greeted his family, "Hello. Everyone, sit on the couch."
His mom brought out a spread of traditional Korean dishes - bibimbap, bulgogi, and kimchi stew. The aroma filled the room, and Taehyung's stomach growled in response. But he didn't show it. He sat down, his eyes fixed on the food, his mind elsewhere.
Dowoon tried to break the ice. "Hey, Taehyung, try some of mom's kimchi. It's her famous recipe."
Taehyung nodded, taking a small portion. The flavors exploded in his mouth, but he didn't react. He ate in silence, his eyes fixed on his plate.
His father asked, "Dowoon told us you have some work at night. What's going on?"
Taehyung's response was curt. "I'm going to Japan. I have a meeting with a businessman who's interested in my art."
Dowoon's eyes narrowed. "Why Japan? And why so sudden?"
Taehyung shrugged. "He called me last night, and I have to go."
But the truth was far from that. Taehyung was going to Japan for Jungkook, not some businessman. But he couldn't reveal that to his family. Not yet.
The lunch was awkward, with forced conversations and uncomfortable silences. Taehyung was visibly uneasy, his eyes darting towards the door, eager to escape. Finally, he stood up, "I have to go. I still have some packing to do."
His family looked at him, a mix of confusion and concern on their faces. But Taehyung didn't stay to explain. He left, leaving behind a trail of unanswered questions and unresolved emotions.
As he walked out the door, he felt a pang of guilt. He knew he was hurting his family, but he couldn't help it. His heart belonged to Jungkook now, and he couldn't bear the thought of being away from him.
