A Web of Lies and Deception

Dowoon's worry deepened as he stared at his twin brother’s untouched bed. Taehyung had been absent from university for a month, and his absence was no longer something that could be brushed off. His sudden disappearance, the unanswered calls, and the eerie silence weighed heavily on Dowoon’s heart.

Sitting on the dormitory couch, he sighed heavily, rubbing his temples. His older brother, usually calm and composed, now carried an edge of unease that Dowoon had never seen before.

A Brother’s Concern

“Jaehyun, I’m really worried about Taehyung,” Dowoon confessed, his voice laced with frustration and fear. His boyfriend, Jaehyun, studied him carefully, sensing the underlying distress.

“He hasn’t attended university in a month. He promised to come for family dinner, but he never showed up. He’s ignoring my calls, my messages—it’s like he’s completely cut me off.”

Jaehyun leaned forward, concern flickering in his sharp eyes. “That’s not like him. Have you tried asking Felix? He’s Taehyung’s best friend—if anyone knows what’s going on, it’s him.”

Dowoon’s expression shifted, a spark of hope lighting up his face. “That’s a great idea. Let’s go find him.”

The two hurried across campus, heading straight to the university garden, where Felix was known to spend his free time. As expected, they found him, surrounded by books and scattered notes. Felix appeared relaxed, but the moment he saw Dowoon’s anxious expression, his calm demeanor wavered.

“Felix,” Dowoon said urgently, “where is Taehyung? He’s been missing from university for a month! He ignored our family dinner, and he’s avoiding my calls.”

Felix hesitated, his fingers tightening around his pen. “He told me he had some important work to take care of,” he answered vaguely. “I don’t think he heard properly about the dinner.”

Dowoon’s jaw clenched. “That’s not a good enough answer, Felix. Call him—right now. Ask him if he’s coming to university today.”

Felix hesitated before pulling out his phone. As the dial tone rang, Dowoon held his breath. Then, finally, a deep voice answered.
