Birthday Surprise

Taehyung sat alone in the cozy café, the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee swirling around him. The soft hum of indie music played in the background, blending with the quiet chatter of other customers. Normally, this was his favorite escape—a place where he could relax, lost in the warmth of a latte and his thoughts. But today was different. Today was his birthday. And today, he felt alone.

His fingers traced the rim of his coffee cup as he checked his phone for what felt like the hundredth time. No message from Felix. His best friend, who always made his birthdays special, was miles away, tending to his sick grandmother. Taehyung swallowed the lump in his throat, forcing himself to shake off the melancholy creeping in. It was just another day. It didn’t matter.

But as he stared out the rain-speckled window, he couldn’t ignore the dull ache in his chest.

The café door swung open, the bell chiming softly. Taehyung barely glanced up—until he heard a voice that sent a shiver down his spine.

“Hey, Taehyung.”

His heart stuttered. Slowly, he lifted his gaze, and there he was.

Jungkook.

He stood there like something out of a dream, his black coat dusted with raindrops, hair slightly tousled as if he had run to get here. His dark eyes locked onto Taehyung’s with a strange intensity, something unreadable swirling beneath them.

Taehyung blinked, struggling to process the moment. “How… how did you find me?” he stammered.

Jungkook simply smirked, that familiar cocky charm laced with something deeper, something Taehyung couldn’t quite place. “You’ll know soon enough.” He set a neatly wrapped package in front of him—a pink suit. Formal. Elegant. Perfect.

“Wear this,” Jungkook said, his voice low, almost teasing. “And come with me.”

Taehyung’s pulse quickened. Questions swirled in his mind, but the weight of Jungkook’s gaze made it impossible to refuse. With slightly trembling hands, he picked up the suit and walked toward the restroom.
