Mikha

"Not my type."

"My type."

I rolled my eyes. Aiah doesn't even like girls, she just likes joking with me about it. Baka if may kuya yan, yun ang type ni Aiah.

Nakaupo kami sa bleachers habang vacant namin, our eyes set on the students trying out for our university's Track and Field team, specifically a brunette girl Aiah is practically feasting on with her eyes. First day pa lang ng semester kaya marami kaming vacant, wala pa ring ganap sa cheer squad as of now.

"She is so your type, Mikhs. Kabisado ko mga previous girlfriends and crushes mo. I know a Mikha girl when I see one." pilit ni Aiah.

"Of course, lahat kasi ng nagugustuhan ko sinusumpa mo kaya kabisado na sila. You hated them all and lahat sila ayaw mo para sakin."

"Cause none of them were good enough for you, babe." she laughed and took my face in her hands.

There were a few seconds of silence while Aiah's eyes were glued to me, waiting for my response, and mine to the girl on the field. Maybe type ko nga siya, Aiah's right. She knows me too well. It doesn't have much to do with my attraction, though, it's more of me not having the energy to pursue anything right now.

Maybe I need a break from all the partying, flirting, the girls, and following Aiah's lead. The whole summer, nakabuntot lang ako kay Aiah. She's always been fun Aiah. The life of the party. The girl all the guys wanted and all the girls wanted to be. But she really broke out her shell this summer and had me along for the ride. She took me everywhere. Her influence on me is greater than any other people in my life combined. Don't get me wrong, it's fun. Pero after whole months of it, maybe I got exhausted and want to try different things this term.

"If looks could kill, patay na yan. Yan pala ang hindi type, Mikha?" I just smirked and shrugged it off.

She leaned back and started using her phone because I wasn't responding.

"Even if hindi mo aminin, I know you. You're thinking about it. I say go for it, lover."

"Shotgun!" sigaw ko nang nakarating si Stacey.

Tatlo kami ni Aiah at Gwen sa condo ko while we waited for Stacey to pick us up. Saglit lang kami nag ayos dahil hindi naman formal event ang pupuntahan namin.

"Lover, no. Dito tayo sa likod. Ayaw mo kong katabi?" tutol ni Aiah.

I smiled at her and followed her sa backseat while si Gwen and umupo sa passenger seat. We were heading to the hotel where our Welcome Party for the semester will be held para sa mga Liberal Arts students.

If it were up to me, di na ko pupunta. I had no other plans but I'd rather stay home and rest. We all agreed earlier this morning not to go, but Aiah suddenly changed her mind and called just hours before like going to the event was an urgent matter. Aiah wanted to be with me. So I went with her.

We arrived at the venue when all the opening remarks and boring introductory activities were over. This is where the actual fun began. I just know the drinks have already been spiked and a number of people have already run off to hotel rooms to have parties of their own.

"Girls, kuha na tayo drinks." tinaasan ni Stacey ang boses niya through the loud music.

Dumiretso na kami sa buffet area and laking disappointment ni Aiah nang matikman niya ang juice.

"Weakshit naman tong mga to. Walang halo. Kailangan ba nila ko for the party to start?"

Aiah went straight to the bar area to take matters into her own hands. God knows kung anong plano niya, sana lang hindi siya mahuli. Mukha namang walang pake and kunti ang mga chaperones.
