Aiah

I wasn't sure how to feel at first. Malulungkot ba ko for my best friend, knowing na this would break her if she finds out? Magagalit ba ko that Colet would betray Mikha like this after all the hindrances their relationship has put our friendship through? Or, even if it sounded wrong, matutuwa ba ko dahil nalaman ko na ang bagay na makakapagtapos sa kanila?

These conflicting emotions continued surging through me. I started feeling them all at once. I decided to compose myself as I watched them through the cafe window, hiding unnoticed behind a tree for an amount of time I've lost track of. First thing, take photos, of course. Evidence. I quickly tried to steal a couple shots and a short video to top it all off.

Satisfied with the evidence I've collected, I was still torn on the approach I was going to take. I was definitely gonna give those two cheaters hell, that's no question. But I racked my mind thinking about how I was even gonna pass this on to Mikha. Kilalang kilala ko siya, she would go through the greatest lengths just to see the good in people. There's a high chance that this would all blur out once she sees it. She would find some way to give her cheating girlfriend the benefit of the doubt. And as painful as it is to admit, there's also the fear of not knowing if she would believe it coming from me, if she would finally choose me now. There was no easy answer. Not only would what I did next affect their relationship, but it would also alter the course of our friendship.

I shifted my attention back to the two flirting like wala silang natatapakang tao. They were touching each other so subtly, taking pictures, and laughing like they were the only two people in the world. Kung di mo sila kilala, they would seem like your typical couple straight out of a romcom. But that wasn't the case. This would tear my best friend's world apart, and God help them now that I had found out. You mess with my girl, sisirain ko ang buhay niyo.

"Madame Aiah!" followed by two honks and tires screetching. Stacey! God, Baka mabuking pa ko neto.

"Aiaaaah! Your driver is here!" More honking.

She parked on the sidewalk just near the tree where I was playing spy, waving at me through her open window. I wasted no time running to open her car door and rushed in. "Drive na, Staks! Dali!" I ordered her once I was sat on the passenger seat.

"Huy ano ba to? May nanghahabol ba sayo?"

I ignored her til we were already a block away from the cafe. Shit. I was pretty sure I saw them catching a glimpse of us just then. Thank you so much, Staku. "Si Colet."

"Hinahabol ka ni Colet?"

"No. Mainit init ang balita."

"Oooh ano yan, chismis? Di ako nakikichismis eh. Pero ano nga ba yun?"

I turned to her and made a gesture with my hands of two people kissing each other. Parang bata lang.

"Ha? Nagmomol kayo ni Colet?"

"Not me. Ew." As if?

"So.. someone else? Are you saying... She cheated on Mikhs?" she exclaimed dramatically with a sudden halt of the car. Akala ko ay nagiging OA lang siya, yun pala ay nandito na kami sa tapat ng bahay ko.

"Is cheating."

"Oh shit. With who?"

"That girl na editor-in-chief ata ng campus paper? Don't know her name. I watched them for a while kanina, to make sure." I said as I whipped out my phone to show her all the photos I've taken, her eyes filled with disbelief.

"This bitch! Seryoso pa naman si Mikhs sakanya. When are you gonna tell her?"

I shrugged. "She'll get what she deserves. And di ko pa sasabihin kay Mikhs. Di pwedeng sakin manggagaling to."
