Why You ?

Chapter 15

{{I'm already warning that there is a small passage that may offend sensitivities :/ Really a small one but it's just to tell you...there you go}}

"We were waiting for you Kai."

The brunette didn't dare move, or even turn around before a hand came to rest on his shoulder making him jump. His gaze remained fixed on his friends who were watching him. 

"As you can see," said the voice, "your friends and I waited just for you."

"You are a monster Garmadon."

"So be it, take him," he said to his disciples.

Kai wanted to retort something, defend himself or even be able to free his friends but as soon as this sentence was said, he fell unconscious.

When he woke up, the brunette was not in all his senses and barely noticed that he was being dragged through long corridors. He decided to raise his head despite his vision being blurry but recognized nothing. After a while, he felt the cold ground beneath him, not without being thrown casually. Kai then sat up on his arms, waiting for everything around to become clear again.

"Great rescue," said a voice next to him.

"Cole?" said the red ninja as he got up.

"In person."

"Where are we ?"

"Oh I don't know, think about it, who do you think would harm us?"

"Stop blaming everything on me, will you?" Kai said, turning violently towards him.

"Yet if you and your lover hadn't left, we wouldn't be here!" Cole started shouting.

"Boys !" called Nya, "this is neither the place nor the time to quarrel, so stop your bickering."

"What happened in town? "

"You have to see, you just had to be there."

"Cole! Stop at the end," replied the young girl before sighing, "Garmadon managed to escape from the prison by activating his Oni power over the entire city, he destroyed many buildings and reduced all the inhabitants to the state of stone statues. He also took the opportunity to free all the prisoners who were there."

"Great," Kai grumbled.

"Whose fault is it ?", Cole retorted towards him. 

Kai wanted to retort violently but a sound of a door made them stop all discussion. The brunette approached the bars, enough to see Lloyd dragged into an empty cell and released as had been done to him. He wanted to call her but a guard appeared in front of him, a smile on his face.

"Your friend is pretty good," he said with a grin.

The brunette didn't understand right away, first watching the man leave the room before finally understanding it.

"You bastard, how dare you!" Kai shouted unnecessarily. "I'm going to make you pay for it!"

"Kai!" Nya called. "It's no longer useful."

He didn't even dare to answer, just looking at the blond's unconscious body. He sat down on the ground without having moved and brought his legs against his chest while resting his head against his knees. He tried to calm down, to think of something else, but when he raised his eyes to meet Lloyd's crying eyes, it was in vain.

Kai quickly got up, pacing back and forth under Cole's drunken gaze. Then he stopped against the back wall, closing his eyes. The other ninjas who had been waiting since earlier saw a small light invade the room. The earth ninja was the first to see him, a little too much even.
