"For your next mission you'll be mentoring Yuuji-kun."

The words that came out of my teacher's mouth made me stop in my tracks. My eyes placed themselves on the ground.

"Ask Maki to do it." I said. "I myself still need training..."

Silence which then lingered in the air for a few seconds was eventually interrupted by the tall blindfolded man.

"You do it." He stated as he began to walk away with his back facing me. "But he needs a better role model. I'm not strong eno-

"You may not already realize this but..." He trailed off as my mind was doubting my own strengths and weaknesses.

"You're stronger than you were once before."

But still.... I'm not cut out for this. The seemingly never ending doubts circled within myself as the pink haired teenager continued staring at me curiously.

poke...

Suddenly he began to poked my cheek. "What are you doing?"

"Sensei told me you can make copies of yourself." The supposedly dead first year replied, his finger still poking my cheek. "Are you y-n senpai's clone?"

Clone or not how exactly will this help him confirm that...

"The last time my copy accompanied a student it didn't go well..." I spilled out as I remembered the traumatised look on Yuta's face seeing me getting 'slashed alive'.

"You can't use a technique right?"

I seem to have touched a sensitive topic when I saw the melancholic face of the youngster with his head hung low.

"I'm sorry."

'...'

Is he sobbing?!

There stood a deformed body of an animal like creature staring at us with his gauged out eyes. Due to being reported with sightings of a curse in a nearby school, we were asked to investigate the said situation. The rumours stayed true to themselves as both of us were now faced with the said curse.

What exactly am I suppose to do as a 'mentor'?

My head turned to the side to check on my pink haired companion only to see his face flushed with utter fear. "Those people... they're dead."

On the field, as the dirt abosorbed their blood layed several corpses of young children in their uniforms. Their guts pulled out and limbs bent backwards. A dreadful sight. Not to mention the intoxicating smell of iron. It was quite familiar for some reason...

My feet slowly stepped forward as I unsheathed my sword but not infusing it with any cursed energy. Itadori probably uses a cursed tool too, so it's best if I use mine aswell instead of a technique.

"We can't always save everyone." I said eyeing my target and trying to determine it's weak points to make my work easier. "But we'll keep on saving who we can."

There! A weakness! My eyes narrowed down as I tightened the grip I had on my sword's hilt.

"Even if it kills us."

Charging forwards I raised my sword, bringing the blade to it's determined weak point. And at that brief moment I infused the blade edge with pure cursed energy.

A perfect kill.

The divided body of the said curse began to vaporize itself to dust. I looked back expecting to see the fear filled face of my junior, but instead he was kneeling down near the lifeless corpses.

I sheathed back my sword as I walked up to him. He's probably thinking how he could have saved them if he had done this or that and so on. But there's no point in dwelling so. No point at all. I should know.

After all... the reason I became a jujutsu sorcerer-

"Y-n senpai..." My thoughts were broken by the knelt down boy. "I want to get stronger so I can save as many people as I can..." He looked at me, his eyes filled with determination.

A smile crawled it's way up to my stoic face. My hand placed itself ontop of the pile of fluffy pink hair and began to ruffle it.

The said boy was dumbfound and began to wonder if he had said something wrong.

"You'll get stronger...-" I told him as I finally stopped.

"-Stronger than you once were."
