As they chuckled, a voice startled them. Mihir and Arjun had returned.

"What's so funny that you guys are laughing alone?" Arjun asked, curiosity piqued.

"That just how dumb you are and how difficult it would be for you to find a wife," Anditha teased.

"Maa, yaar!" Arjun protested, half laughing, half exasperated.

"What? Don't you want to get married?" she teased further.

"I do, but for that, I need to find a girl, woo her, propose to her, and for all that, I need time—which your husband and favorite son are not giving me," Arjun spoke with frustration, exaggerating his woes dramatically.

"Such a drama," Mihir added, rolling his eyes.

"Exactly," Karanveer smirked, enjoying the light-hearted banter.

Arjun sighed, "You all don't understand. After all, you had an arranged marriage. Not everyone is lucky enough to find someone like Maa and Ragini bhabi."

"Lucky? Only I know how lucky I am," Mihir added with the same sigh as his son.

"Did you say something?" Anditha asked, raising her brow.

Mihir quickly cleared his throat. "Of course, darling. I was just agreeing with Arjun. We're both very lucky to have such wonderful wives."

Arjun gave him a knowing look, "Good save." but then Mihir glared at him

Arjun shook his head, "See? This is what I mean. Imagine Karan bhai going out to woo girls. Do you all think he could? He just got lucky with bhabi."

"Aren't you exaggerating too much?" Karanveer interjected with a raised eyebrow.

"Am I wrong? Did you ever have a girlfriend?" Arjun pressed, a teasing glint in his eye.

Karanveer scoffed, Anditha and Mihir laughed, adding to Karanveer's misery.

After some time, Anditha excused herself to attend to other matters, leaving Karanveer, Arjun, and Mihir to discuss work. Their conversation was light-hearted yet productive, covering various topics from business strategies to upcoming projects. Eventually, Karanveer excused himself, remembering that Ragini had missed her medicine.

He entered their room and, after a few moments, Ragini walked in. She noticed him looking at her intently, making her feel self-conscious. She instinctively wanted to avoid his gaze and leave the room.

"Stop right there," Karanveer commanded, his voice firm but gentle.

She halted in her tracks and turned to face him. He slowly approached her, pushing his wheelchair, his eyes locked on hers, making her feel both nervous and curious.

"I have some work," she said, attempting to leave again.

But Karanveer was quick. He grabbed her arm with a sudden force, causing her to lose her balance and fall into his lap.

One of her hands instinctively wrapped around his neck, while the other was held tightly by him. The proximity sent a rush of butterflies through her stomach, and she could feel her heart pounding, matching the rhythm of his.

He twisted her arm gently behind her back, and she winced slightly, which sounded more like a moan, which sent a shiver through him. His eyes darkened with a mixture of wild desire and possessiveness.

"So, what were you saying back there?" he asked, his voice low and teasing.

She looked at him, confusion evident in her eyes. "What?"

"About what I'm good at," he clarified, pulling her even closer.

"How would I know?" she replied, trying to maintain her composure but feeling her resolve weaken under his intense gaze.

"Really?" He arched an eyebrow, sarcasm lacing his tone. "Wasn't someone saying I'm only good at glaring at people and scaring them? What happened to them now?"

Ragini felt a mixture of embarrassment and excitement. This close proximity and the sound of his voice, deep and hoarse, sent her mind into a whirl.

"What happened? Are you getting scared?" he asked, his lips dangerously close to her ear.

"N-no," she stammered, her voice barely a whisper.

"Then why is your heart beating so fast, wife?" he murmured, leaning closer to her lips, teasing her with his nearness.

Their eyes were locked in a heated gaze, the tension between them palpable. Just as he was about to close the distance, a voice startled them both.

"Bhai! Bhabi!" Arjun's voice broke through the moment.

They quickly pulled away from each other, before Ragini could stand up, Arjun entered the room, looking at them with a mix of confusion and amusement.

"Bhabi's sister is here. You guys wrap up your romance and come out," he said, chuckling as he dashed out of the room.

Karanveer's expression shifted from intense desire to mild annoyance, he sighed leaning his forehead against Ragini's shoulder. While Ragini felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her.

As Ragini tried to stand up, Karanveer's grip on her arm tightened, preventing her from leaving. She felt a mix of frustration and timidity under his intense gaze.

"Leave me," she murmured timidly, meeting his annoyed expression.

"Why are you always in a sprint to run away from me?" he questioned, his voice tinged with both frustration and a hint of hurt.

She shook her head slightly, indicating she wasn't trying to escape. Instead, she diverted the topic.

"Swara is here," she mentioned after a pause, hoping to change the subject.

"I know," Karanveer replied calmly. "She mentioned on the call that she would be here."

Ragini looked at him with confusion, not recalling any recent calls. He clarified, "She called your number multiple times while you were asleep. I answered and told her about your health. She said she wanted to meet you."

Understanding dawned on Ragini's face, and she attempted to stand up again. However, Karanveer, whose head was still resting on her shoulder, leaned down and gently nuzzled her neck and bite down on her exposed skin.

"Ouch" The unexpected gesture startled her, causing a rush of emotions—surprise, confusion, and a hint of something more she couldn't quite place.

Before she could react, he released her,

She was still trying to make sense on what he did, did he just bite her on neck, she was in thoughts but was startled when he asked her

"What, now you're not in a hurry to meet your sister?"

Embarrassed by the intimate moment and his teasing tone, Ragini quickly stood up, her heart still pounding in her chest. She made her way out of the room, feeling a mix of emotions swirling within her. Her mind raced with questions—what had just happened between them? Why did his touch affect her so deeply?

As she walked through the house, she couldn't shake off the lingering sensation of his closeness. Her thoughts were in disarray, trying to make sense of her own feelings and the unexpected intimacy they had shared.
