"Ragini!" he called, hurrying after her.
She didn't stop, but he caught up with her just as she stepped into the cool night air.
"I didn't do anything, you know," Karanveer said, a little breathless.
Ragini's eyes flashed, still hot with irritation. "You didn't have to. The fact that you were enjoying it so much was enough."
Karanveer's mouth opened and closed as he struggled to find the right words, but just as he was about to speak, an announcement rang through the speakers.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we now invite our lovely couple, Karanveer and Ragini, on stage for their performance!"
The crowd cheered, and Karanveer and Ragini exchanged a look. As Karanveer and Ragini made their way onto the stage, the crowd cheered, and the spotlight hit them both.
The beat picked up, and the lyrics of the song flowed smoothly, with Karanveer's voice carrying
the playful energy of the tune
Ho saamne tu hai na Visphote sa dil main hua re
Pyar ke ocean mein Ek boat sa tair gaya re
Ragini rolled her eyes, but her lips curled into a smile despite herself. "You think you're charming, don't you?"
He winked at her, stepping closer. "I know I am, biwi."
Karanveer danced around her, pulling playful moves, and Ragini couldn't resist the rhythm of the song. She swayed along, matching his energy, despite the playful irritation still bubbling inside her. The music was infectious, and they both couldn't help but get lost in the carefree vibe
Dhak dhak karke sound jo aaya, Bak bak karke tujhko pakaaya
Ho zara ghabra ke, zara itra ke, Kar pyar se karta raha
Chedkhaniyaan chedkhaniyaan
Kabhi ulti to seedhi
Chedkhaniyan chedkhaniyan
Kare aisi ki taisi
By the end of the song, both were laughing, and the entire room erupted in applause. Karanveer held his hand out to her, pulling her close for a quick, sweet kiss on the cheek, earning even louder cheers from the audience. Ragini blushed, playfully nudging him away as they walked off the stage.
Later that night, the atmosphere in their room was decidedly different. Karanveer sat on the edge of the bed, holding a pillow in his lap, watching his wife silently. Ragini, still visibly annoyed, stood by the dresser, meticulously applying moisturizer and avoiding his gaze.
"Come on, yaar, don't be angry now," he said, his tone a mix of guilt and exasperation.
Ragini didn't reply, her focus remaining on her nightly routine.
Karanveer sighed dramatically, running a hand through his hair. "You know I'm yours," he said softly, testing the waters.
"As if you have a choice," she muttered under her breath, but loud enough for him to hear.
His eyes widened, caught off guard by her possessive remark. It was rare for Ragini to stake her claim so openly. "What did you say?" he asked, his tone teasing.
She ignored him completely, putting away her moisturizer and turning toward the bed.
Having had enough of the silent treatment, Karanveer stood, ready to confront her, but the moment Ragini stood as well, he immediately sat back down like a scolded puppy. His dramatic act of surrender earned him a questioning look.
