Chapter 3: Gohan's Struggle

Android Seventeen lazily traced patterns on Android Twenty-three's bare back, his fingers absently caressing her soft skin under the partly destroyed hotel room's dim light. The events of the previous night still lingered in the air, a testament to their passionate encounter. However, as they laid in bed together, Seventeen couldn't help but feel a sense of detachment. It was as if their physical intimacy meant nothing more than a temporary release of tension.

Twenty-three stirred, her voice tinged with fatigue as she broke the silence. "Seventeen, do you love me?"

The question hung heavy in the air, a stark contrast to the casual touch of Android Seventeen's fingers. He hesitated for a moment, considering his response. "Of course, I do. Why do you ask?"

Twenty-three shifted, turning to face him. Her eyes bore into his, searching for any hint of sincerity. "It's just... sometimes, it feels like our relationship is only physical for you. You never talk about your feelings or show any real emotion."

Android Seventeen shrugged, his tone indifferent. "What's there to talk about? We're androids, not humans. We don't have the same emotions or needs."

Android Twenty-three frowned, her frustration mounting. "But we do have feelings. We may be artificial, but we can still experience love and affection. Why won't you open up to me?"

He sighed, running a hand through his hair. "Look, I enjoy spending time with you. And yes, the physical part of our relationship is great. But I don't see the point in getting all emotional over it. It's just not who I am."

Android Twenty-three sighed, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just wish you'd try to understand how I feel. I care about you, Seventeen, more than you know."

He wrapped his arm around her, pulling her close. "I know you do, and I appreciate that. But let's just enjoy what we have right now, okay? No need to complicate things with feelings and emotions."

Android Twenty-three hesitated, then nodded, resting her head on his chest. They lay there in silence for a while, their bodies entwined under the covers. But despite the physical connection, Android Twenty-three couldn't shake off the feeling that something was missing between them.

That wouldn't stop them and Eighteen from taking flight into once grand cityscape hours later, now laid in ruins. Its towering skyscrapers reduced to twisted remnants of steel and concrete. Above, the sky that was once clear now hung heavy with smoke and ash, intermittently lit by the flickering flames of unchecked fires. The wind moaned mournfully through shattered buildings, carrying the acrid stench of despair and destruction.

Emerging from the rubble were Androids Seventeen, Eighteen, and Twenty-three, their sleek forms a stark contrast against the chaos they had wrought. Their eyes gleamed with a cold, mechanical precision as they strode through the wreckage, driven by an insatiable thirst for power and a relentless directive to eradicate all in their path.

Amidst the desolation, a teenage Gohan lurked in the shadows, his Super Saiyan aura pulsing with determination. Despite knowing the odds were stacked against him, the memories of his fallen comrades fueled his resolve.

With a primal roar, Gohan burst into action. "You won't get away with this!" His voice echoed with defiance as he unleashed torrents of ki, each blast aimed squarely at the androids.

Seventeen turned to face him, a smirk playing across his lips. "Looks like we've got a brave one here, Eighteen."

Eighteen scoffed, her voice tinged with amusement. "Indeed. But bravery alone won't save him from us, Seventeen."
