She saw Dhruvi sitting in Kabir's room while he was working on his laptop. She's making some drinks. She insists Kabir join her for a shot but he denies showing no interest in her. She says something and he agrees. Then, she mixed something in the drink and gave it to him. He drank it in one go. She smirks looks at him and then goes to the washroom. Samaira didn't waste even a minute and called Akshit as he was staying here. He picks up the call in the first ring.
"Hello, Sam! Everything all right?"
"Nothing is right, Aksh. That bitch spiked Kabir's drink and he drank it in one go. You do one thing, take him to the basement. I'll handle him. Just do something before she comes out of the washroom."
"Okay. I am going. I'll take him to the basement only." He says and runs towards Kabir's room. Kabir's head starts aching. Akshit goes to his room and takes him out of there. He took him to the basement. They reached the basement and knocked on the door of her room. She opened it and Kabir hugged her.
"Thank you, Aksh. I'll handle him." She said."No need to say thank you and handle him well." He winks at her while saying and leaves.
"Precious, you know how much I missed you!" He said in a cute voice like a baby.
She took him inside and made him sit on the bed. She asked, "Abir, you drank the drink that Dhruvi gave you."
He pressed his temples and said, "Yes Dhruvi. She did not agree but she said she'll leave if I drink it."
"She said and you drank it?" She asked and he replied, "No she said one drink, to ek hi drink li."
She got up from the bed thinking about Dhruvi and Kabir came behind her. He held his ears with his hands and said, "Sorry!" She smiled looking at him and said, "Abir, you should sleep!"
"No, I don't want to." He said with a pout.
"But you have to. I'll make you sleep. Come!" She said taking her to bed.
"No, you can't make me sleep!" He said with a smile to which she replied, "I can and I'll." She made him lay on the bed and started massaging his head. She sat near him and she placed his head on her lap massaging his hair."You know, when I hurt you that day, I felt like killing myself. But then I thought I need to earn your forgiveness or you would never forgive me." He said looking at her and she was shocked listening to him.
"Precious!" he whispered, breaking the silence, "do you know what happened when you left me?" His voice softened, taking on an almost desperate tone. She stayed silent, waiting, as he looked up at her, his eyes glassy with unshed tears.
"When you left... everything inside me shattered. I used to lie awake thinking about the future I'd planned... our future. Every dream I had was with you," he continued, his words tumbling out, barely coherent but intensely raw. "After you walked away... you took my heart, my soul with you. It was just my body left, Samaira... bas ek dhacha reh gaya tha."
She looked at him, surprised at the vulnerability he was showing, the normally collected Kabir now confessing like a lost child.
"I tried to live, Aira, I tried. But the pain just grew. People told me to move on, to forget... par kaise? How do you move on with just your body when your heart is still with someone else?" His voice broke, and he shifted slightly, his gaze meeting hers.
"There were days... no, months... I used to hurt myself, trying to match the pain I felt in my heart. Then I found a way to numb it... the mafia world gave me that, Aira." he admitted, his tone turning cold for a moment. "People who betrayed me... I made them pay. Their screams gave me peace—an escape. It was twisted but it was all I had."
Samaira listened, her heart aching for the pain he had endured. She brushed her fingers through his hair, her touch gentle.
"Then, you came back." His voice softened again, filled with a fragile hope. "At Sameer's birthday... for the first time, I felt alive again. I thought maybe... just maybe, we could have another chance. But that hope shattered when I saw you with Dhairya. It felt like my heart broke all over again."
She stayed silent, letting him pour his heart out, feeling his pain as her own. Kabir took a shuddering breath, his voice dropping to a murmur.
"Do you remember the day you asked why I had agreed to marry Priya? I never wanted that marriage, Precious. I only agreed because... I thought you had moved on. I thought maybe if I married someone else, the pain of losing you would lessen... but it didn't." He looked away, shame shadowing his features.
"But the moment I saw you at my wedding, standing there as my bride... Samaira, I was ready to believe in us again, in love again. Then I saw you avoiding me, saw you with Dhairya, and the hope I had just... vanished. I didn't want to feel that hurt again, which is why I pushed you away... I wanted to keep you close but couldn't bear the fear of losing you again."
He paused, his gaze fixed on her with a quiet intensity. "But when I saw my name on your henna that day, I was the happiest I'd been in years. I wanted to tell you everything, but that same fear kept holding me back."
She was close to tears, seeing how much pain he had hidden away, how much he had loved her despite everything.
"And then you wore my shirt that day... God, you don't know what you did to me." he murmured, a faint smile tugging at his lips as he looked up at her. "It was like I was living a dream, and this time, I didn't want to wake up. I wanted you, Samaira. All of you."
He sat up, reaching for her hand, bringing it to his chest as if hoping she could feel the erratic beat of his heart. "And when you asked for a second chance, it felt like my heart was being pieced back together, bit by bit. I wanted to give you everything, Precious... everything I'd ever withheld."
He let out a shaky breath, the pain, the love, and the desperation evident in his gaze. "When you look at me, Samaira, everything else fades. I don't want to be a monster... not with you. I love you. I need you... tum ho toh main hoon."
As she looked at him, Kabir leaned forward, resting his forehead against hers, their breaths mingling in the silence of the basement.
"I love you, Mrs. Samaira Kabir Shekhawat," he whispered, his voice barely audible, the confession lingering in the air between them, vulnerable and bare.
