chapter 1 ~

little backstory rq:
you and maddy have been bestfriends since you were young because you both acted in a film when you were 3 and maddy was just 2 years old.

(you are now 13)

me and maddy were on our way to school one morning talking about how it had already been 10 whole years since we became besties, when all of a sudden she gasps,

"oh my gosh i nearly forgot to tell you, i auditioned for another movie"

she told me, she sounded really excited,
"oh fr? what did u audition for and what role"

i asked, i tried my best to match her energy although i wasnt in the best mood because i had woken up late.

"i auditioned for the role of gewn in the black phone"

she told me. i had heard about this movie because i was a pretty big fan of horror movies and get notified anytime one was due to come out.

"oh nice, tell me about the character gwen"

i said trying to keep myself awake.

"well, id say shes really tough and she would do anything for her brother even if that means risking her life for him, what do you think? do u think ill get the job?"

she asked. i had heard the movie was holding auditions but i didnt read too much into it, i really liked the character and knew maddy would be perfect for it. my mind began to wander, i missed being on set, i was struggling with my mental health and anxiety for the past few months so i hadn't auditioned in what felt like forever. i was lost in my thoughts, not even realising i hadn't answered maddy and was just standing there, zoned out, like a complete idiot. i snapped out of my daze when maddy started waving her hands infront of my face and screaming my name,
"Y/N, HELLO YOU THERE?"

"shoot, sorry"

i said quickly.

"hey mads.."

"yeah?"

"do you mind if i auditions for a role in the black phone too? obviously not the same role, i think you'll be perfect as gwen, but maybe someone with not too much screen time or lines to learn since i havent been in set in forever"

i said quickly, afraid that she'd say no.

"are you kidding?! of course you can!! id love to do another movie with you"

"aw thank you, maybe after school you could help film my audition tape?"

"of course i will"

we walked into school and got to class

why does the first chapter always gotta be so dang boringgg
