A plant inside a window seal

I will always be a single plant inside a window seal that craves for the warmth of your sunlight,
As crazy as others might think it may be, I'll chase that warm yellow sunshine against my growing leaves.

I kept chasing something that I knew I deserved,
I know I do, I just had to try a little harder to reach,
When I finally did reach you, you're projecting on another angle,
Giving all your warmth to someone who didn't make an effort the way I did,
That made me wonder, "Did I move a little too slow? Didn't I do enough?".

That other plant just existed but somehow it got the thing I've worked hard for,
I've only wasted my time and effort,
No matter what I do, you'd always move your rays away whenever I came after you.
