A Day Without Fear

A question was stuck in my mind with answers I thirst,
"If you wake up tomorrow with no fear, what would you do first?".
As I thought about this question, all that is in my mind is the person I am concerned.
You.
I'd go up to you and blurt out the speech I've rehearsed.

Since I won't shiver down my toes,
I thought, maybe I could now simply just face you up close.
Finally, I'll speak the feeling I made tangible with words,
And recite it not from my head but from my heart and soul.

The day might end and my courage will fade,
But that would be another worry for another day.
I'd show up at your doorstep just like how I show up at your games,
But with the Eros's eyes and Venus's lips.

Though, it's not a gift without a price,
There's no easy way to get the prize.
Fear is lost but there's always something left to lose,
In the aftermath, I must deal with the terms of my truce.

My fears have held me back, this I know,
But in the absence of fear, my love will grow.
I'll step into the unknown, where dreams reside,
Take the risk with a hope to walk by your side.

The world may tremble, the future unclear,
Yet with you, there's nothing I won't dare.
For in this journey, come joy or strife,
I'd choose you again, for the rest of my life.

So here I stand, no longer confined,
With an open heart and a fearless mind.
I've waited for you boldly without regret,
With the years of my life as my greatest bet.

For love is not the absence of all fright,
But the strength to stand within its light,
To hold you close, despite the cost,
I'd rather compromise the morrow than have my chances to be lost.
