Lacy; Chapter 9

"I am done with this fucking castle", I mumble to myself. I continue to run. I need to leave this castle behind. I want to live a normal life. I ran and I ran until I reached town. I was forbidden to come down here but here I am. I can't quite mix into the crowd since I have this stupid dress on. Guards are on my tail, and I need to act fast. I ran into a nearby alleyway as I stumbled into a girl. "I'm so sorry I was just in a rush and..", she grabbed me and hid me. We watched as the guards run past us. "Thank you..." "it's Annie" her smile is warm and welcoming. "Thank you, Annie, it's nice to meet you" I watch as Annie examines me. "I never seen you before?" she says in a puzzled tone. "That's because I just escaped from the castle. My name is Lacy." Then I watch as her face drops. "Lacy! Like Lacy Grahams!" here we go. "Yes. But listen, Annie. I.. I ran for a reason. I know my parents did some mess up shit but I'm not like them" then she cuts me off. "Lacy, I know. Your man told everyone about you. You are amazing", my man? "Who?" "Alex! Alex Walts!" I feel her embrace me. It's warming that someone else appreciates me. "I hope all good things" I smile at her and she nods. "This is your home, Annie?", I take in my surroundings. She was living in a cardboard box. It was sad and I wanted to help her. "Yes, I can't... afford a house" she says with a frown "let me help you, Annie. It's at least I can do for you helping me from the guards" I watch as her face lits up, "you would do that for me?" I smile and I grab the money out of my pockets and places in her hand "thank you Annie for helping me. I must go. We will talk soon I know it", I hug her, and I went on my way. I had a far walk if I wanted to escape this place.

My legs are aching. I haven't stopped walking, and I don't plan on it. As I walk, I see this beautiful garden. Something about this is different. I walked inside of this garden, and I read a sign. "A garden of passing time" and I freeze. There was grave. I stared at it to make out the name and my heart shattered. "Madison Walts" written in the dirt. This must be his sister. His sister that got brutally murderer. I sat next to her grave. I wonder what she was like. She was Alex's best friend and sister. It still pangs me when I saw Alex sobbing. It hurts. A run a finger through the dirt and I sigh. "I'm going to find that fucker" I whisper to her. As I went up to get up, I felt a hand on my shoulder. A familiar hand. A hand that explored my body. I turned around quickly to find him. "Alex?" I said in a low tone. "Princess, I couldn't find you and I was scared shitless!" I feel his grip on my shoulder tighten. "You can't just run away like that. Not without me" I didn't know what to say to him. I feel his grip tighten again. "I met a girl named Annie", I let out a small chuckle, "Annie? You met her?" I nod "she was nice. She hid me from the guards" I said nonchalantly. "Are you okay?" He says in a worried tone. "I'm fine, my legs are aching but I'm good" I see a smirk grow on his face "from me?" he laughs, "no not from you idiot. From all the walking and running I have been doing." I glance over to her. Madison grave. "I didn't know she was here. It's a beautiful grave" I smile at him "and I didn't know I would find you here" I feel his finger trace over my bottom lip. The same way he did that night. "I'm not returning back to the castle. Especially if Arlo is there" but he seems to focus on my lips "you told your parents that you loved me" shit. "I did" "was it true?", I let out a small smile, "of course it's true, what type of question is that" then I feel his lips pressed against mine. His soft lips. His passionate kiss. Everything about him is passionate.

He breaks off the kiss as we're both out of breath. "I feel a little weird that I kissed you Infront of your sister" he lets out a small laugh, "I think she would be surprised, I never actually been in a relationship" what. How? This man is attractive, and his personality is amazing! " I would have flings, but they would get scared from the scar" I thought his scar was hot, "how come?" I say in a low tone. "They just thought I was trouble, and they didn't want that in a person, but they didn't know the true story" he says with a frown. I know the true story. He trusted me with it. "You trust me, and I trust you" I whisper sending a shiver down his spine, "you told me that you were afraid?" "I know. I'm not anymore. You showed me how to overcome my insecurities" I smile at him. I feel his hand on my cheek making me flustered. "Lacy, you're amazing" I feel his lips kiss my forehead. "We should get going before it gets night" "I love the night. I remind myself of the moon" "oh yeah?" "Yeah! The moon is relaxing, but it hides. It hides away until someone finds it. Finding who they actually are. And that's how I see myself" I watch as he's smile grows bigger. "You know what. Let's watch the stars" I watch as he lays down on the grass "c'mon, princess" and I lay next to him. Watching the stars together. With Madison.
