Days turned into weeks, and Jisoo found herself missing Taehyung more than she expected. They kept in touch through texts and calls, but his messages were often brief and vague.
One evening, as Jisoo was working on a new painting, her phone rang. It was Taehyung, sounding unusually tense.
"Jisoo, there's something I need to tell you," he said, his voice strained.
"What's wrong?" Jisoo asked, her heart pounding.
"My family... they’ve arranged a marriage for me," Taehyung said, the words tumbling out in a rush. "They’re expecting me to marry someone from a wealthy family to secure a business alliance."
Jisoo felt like the ground had been pulled from under her. "What? But you don’t even know this person."
"I know," Taehyung said, his voice heavy with frustration. "I’m trying to fight it, but my parents are insisting. They think it's the best thing for our family."
"Do you want to marry her?" Jisoo asked, her voice trembling.
"No," Taehyung said firmly. "I don’t. I want to be with you, Jisoo. But I don’t know how to get out of this."
Jisoo was silent for a moment, her mind racing. "We’ll find a way," she said finally. "There has to be a way to make them understand."
Taehyung sighed, the weight of his predicament pressing down on him. "I hope so. I can’t imagine my life without you."
As they ended the call, Jisoo felt a mix of determination and fear. She couldn't let Taehyung be forced into something against his will, but she also knew they were up against powerful forces.
