Overthinking

                            Maya Pov

"I'm soooo tired..." I complain to Max "What kept you up this time huh?" Max replied, curious, "Ughhh... just a girl..." The words slip out of my mouth, I then cover my mouth as quickly as I can in embarrassment, "WHAT? OH MY GOSH. SO YOU DO LIKE CHLOE???!!!" he says shocked. The funny thing is, I wasn't thinking about Chloe but, I can't tell him that. "I mean yeah... i guess so." I say, lying straight to his face. "NO. WAY. YOU'RE FINALLY GONNA HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!!" he says, a huge smile spread across his face, "I don't get why you're so happy for me." I say confused.

"My best friend is gonna have a girlfriend!!" He says, quietly, ignoring my query. We make it my first class and he waves goodbye, leaving me to walk in there by myself. I walk into math and see Chloe staring right at me. "Excuse me, Maya, why are you late?" The teacher quickly asks me, "Sorry miss, won't happen again." I reassure her. "Okay, well go sit down please." She tells me and I follow her instructions quickly, sitting next to Chloe. "Hey, I'm sorry about yesterday it was just a problem with my mom you know." Chloe's quick to apologise.

"It's fine, I understand." I reassure her. The class felt like eternity, then the bell goes and everyone gets up to be released. I start making my way to the door until I'm stopped for what felt like the 100th time this week. "Hey, can I make it up to you? We can skip the next class and get some ice cream if you want?" Chloe asks me, I've never skipped a class in my life so I don't know how this is gonna end up, but I agree anyway.

We walk out of class and make our way to the gate, walking out, I feel a sudden unease wash over me but brush it off. "I am really sorry about yesterday though. I should've atleast drove you home first." Chloe breaks the silence, "No, it's okay, I understand. I got a ride home anyways." I reassure her, "What? From who?" She asks, intruiged, "Oh, from Ava." I confess, "Ava? As in Ava field?" She asks, "That's her." I reply.

"Oh, okay then." She says, with a tone of sadness in her voice, "Huh? what's wrong?" I ask, genuinely concerned, "It's nothing." She says, reassuring me. "Alright then."

We arrive at the restaurant we were planning on going to, walking in seeing all of the table options. "Come, let's sit here." I tell Chloe, leading her to the table. We both sit down on opposite sides. Taking a look at the menu just like yesterday. I tell Chloe what I want and then call a waitress over to take our order. "Uhh can I get a cheese pizza with a milkshake? Oh and for her the sliders with a lemonade please." Chloe tells the waitress, "Yep, it'll be out in about 15 minutes." The waitress replies.

                     15 Minutes Later

We eat our food and chat about many different topics and find out that we both have alot in common actually. I think I might be starting to fall for Chloe.
