Erika's POV (Point Of View)
Time had passed since Daisy knocked on the door. About two weeks maybe.
There was a few times I saw Violet take her number out and begin to dial it, then quickly stop and put it back.
I wasn't sure why she did that...but I needed her to call her.
I needed to see Daisy again...but I knew she would never be able to see me.Ben and Vivian had discovered they were expecting, which made things worse.
The house was taking a toll on Ben...almost every night i watched him sleepwalk around the house, and sometimes i would have to guide him back to bed- obviously while he was still asleep, or in whatever trance he'd be in.Ben was also talking to another woman, his mistress I assumed.
Hayden...that's the name I heard him angrily hiss down the phone the other day. I guessed that was her name.Suddenly, the door bell rang.
Usually I didn't care about who came to the house, usually it was one of Bens patients, but ever since Daisy...I always ran to see who it could be.I stood at the top of the stairs looking down.
Hidden, of course."Bianca, come on in"
Ben opened the door to a woman wearing a purple floral-y dress with a tied ribbon at the front of it.
It was just one of his patients. Clearly not Daisy.
I sat down on the step, huffing in disappointment as I did.I watched as the woman stepped in the house.
She seemingly ignored Ben's greeting and just looked around at the house, like she was completely transfixed. Like she was only here for that.Something didn't feel right.
Being trapped in a house with crazy people I always believed you can spot them easily...and this woman had the same vibe.I shrugged, just putting it down to the reason why she was seeing Ben in the first place.
She had an off putting aura around her.I stood and headed back upstairs and toward Violets room.
Luckily she was at school so I could stay in her room and read through her books, like I usually did.
Well, only if he wasn't around...luckily he wasn't.
I couldn't sense him around anyway.I read one of her books that she had left on her bed for a little while, then I flicked through a nearby magazine.
I looked over at the clock- another hour until she came back.
Tate was due to have a therapy session around that time too...so I wanted to see Violet then.
Until then, I bided my time and flicked through the magazine. My mind was elsewhere though. I didn't care about the pictures or words on the paper.
My mind just kept replaying everything that Daisy had said.
Even two weeks later, they still filled my head:"Turns out she wrote letters for me talking about what happened between her mom and my dad...and just giving me big sister advice..."
Those words echoed my mind constantly.
I knew instantly what she was referring to when she said that.
The letters I wrote to her...I remember the day I wrote them.I wrote them a couple weeks after Tate and I came back from Oregon, back in 93'.
At that time Tate and I hadn't spoken since we got back...that was a weird period for both of us.
We didn't even look at each other in the halls, we just avoided each other.
I remember that it affected me...
I felt more lonely then than ever before.
It was horrible.
