A few days after the dreams, Anora was still thinking about them. What had the voice ment when it said I could destroy that land or save it? I'm not some hero or anything!
"Nora, what are you doing?" her little brother asked.
She realized she had been gesturing wildly into the air while having the conversation with herself.
"Nothing. Just thinking." she replied, hopeing to get off the subject. "Hey, I think your friends are calling you."
"Really!" And with that, he was off like a shot to find a friend that had most certainly not called. Oh well, they'd have a good time anyway.
That night, Nora had another strange dream.
She was standing atop a great stone wall, the wind blowing wildly about her, and she could see a huge storm on the horizon, getting closer before her eyes. On one side of the wall, was the vivid, colorful, warm landscape of the first dream, sun shining, birds singing. On the other side, it was still cold and dark. Moonlight glinting on the snow, and the black tree's silver leaves shone with frost. "A storm is coming Lady Anora. Pick one to fall, and one to rise." She then noticed the speakers. A dark haired man in black shining armor with an obsidian crown on the wintery side, and a golden haired man on the other, with beautiful gold armor and an opal crown. "Choose" they said in unison once again as the storm broke, unleashing a wave of rain and lightning.
Crack! The storm was here. It wasn't a dream. Nora bolted up in bed, only to find the man in black from across the street standing over her. She screamed, but the noise was lost in the roar of the storm. The man threw some sort of powder on her face, and instintly the world started to fade into black. She vaugly felt herself being picked up before it all seemed to stop.
Something wasn't right. The bed didn't feel right. The blankets were heavy on her body as she rolled over and looked around. Nora was lying under a pile of furs and blankets on a simple wooden bed frame. The room was made from dark st and a fire crackled merrily in the fireplace from the corner.
She sat up blearily and saw a heavy wooden door in the far corner. She got out of bed and opened it, revealing a long stone hallway. Bringing a blanket with her, Nora padded down the hallway as quietly as possible.
After walking for a few minutes, she heard someone else coming.
"H - hello? Is anybody there?" she called into the darkness. The sound repeated itself, signaling that the person was coming closer.
Nora didn't know what to do. She had been kidnapped from her home, woken up in a place that looked like it belonged in the dark ages, and she was really freaking out. She didn't know why she did it. It just felt right. It was some strange new instinct. She twisted her palm upward, and thought, Light.
Dancing over her palm like a mini sun, was a white ball of light.
Nora stared at the thing in her palm. She had not expected that.
"Fascinating" a voice came from the darkness ahead of her.
"Who are you?" she asked, shoving her light tword the voice.
It was the dark haired man from the dream, still wearing the dark crown, but dressed in fine black furs befitting a king. He had a black sword belted at his waist.
"My dear Lady Anora, I am King Von Hea, lord of the dark relm. And you are the bearer of the power of Satera."
Nora stared at him for a few seconds before saying "What?"
In case your wondering, Satera is the Latin word for balance. -AlaskaRose00
