ISHAN KISHAN

Ishan sat on the seat he had reserved in the train for his journey to Shubman's hometown, a small miracle considering how late they had managed to get him a ticket. The rhythmic clatter of the train wheels on the tracks did little to soothe his frayed nerves. He didn't know the specifics of the tasks given to the others, but he hoped they would complete them successfully and safely. His thoughts were a tangled mess of anxiety and determination.

He had always imagined visiting Shubman's hometown under different circumstances. In his daydreams, they were a happy couple, either dating or married, exploring the familiar streets and meeting Shubman's family. Instead, he was on his way there for a grim task he didn't fully understand but knew was crucial. The thought of it made him sigh heavily.

Ishan's mind wandered back to the time when he had planned to confess his feelings to Shubman in front of their entire class. He had rehearsed his speech a hundred times, imagining the look of surprise and joy on Shubman's face. But all those plans had been derailed by this supernatural mess. Despite the fear gnawing at him, Ishan resolved not to let the Petni ruin his future with Shubman. He loved him too much to let that happen.

Fear still gnawed at him, especially the thought of going to a graveyard alone at midnight. The mere idea sent shivers down his spine. He clenched his fists, determined to survive this ordeal. His mind drifted to his family, and he couldn't help but chuckle bitterly at the thought of his mother's cooking. He wished he had savored more of her homemade meals instead of the nasty dorm food. And then there was his older brother, who would probably kill him before the Petni had a chance if he knew what Ishan was up to. The thought brought a sad smile to his face, a mix of fondness and regret.

As the train rattled on, Ishan looked out the window. The landscape blurred past, a mix of fields and small towns illuminated by the early morning light. He watched as the world outside rushed by, feeling a strange sense of detachment. The journey ahead was daunting, but he knew he had to face it. For Shubman, for their future, and for himself.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions within him. The train continued its relentless march towards its destination, and Ishan hoped that he would find the strength to see this through.
