Nightmare - A DreamZzz Fanstory

The unknown dreamer

I think I will be able to upload all the current chapters till the one that I am unsure with or I upload and you give me feedback on if it should stay like that or get changed a bit. Anyways. Welcome to chapter 4!

Mateo entered the dreamworld early tonight. He was sure he would find Megan and free her from her nightmare. Mateo walked up to the door and entered the fantasy realm. Ferries flew next to him and other magical creatures of every kind. "No sign of any kind of nightmare yet, buddy. That is good... Right?" he asked Z-Blob. He went further into the magical forest but the further he came the more unwell he began to feel. Was that really a good idea? "Even if not. Now it's too late. We can do this Z-Blob! We can find her!"

Suddenly the bush behind him began to shake. Mateo turned around and turned his pencil into a spear. "Hello?" he asks in slight panic. He swung it through the bush and a flower deer kit came running out of it. "Well that wasn't so bad." he said in relief, not seeing the little black creatures in there. Mateo walked further into the forest until he saw those dark purple clouds appear in the sky. From all around him Grimspawn started appearing from the bushes. They circled him! 

"Was that what Mr. Oz meant??" Mateo yelled in silent fear. Suddenly a dark coloured spear shot out of the bushes and into the crowd of Grimspawn. It was the girl! "Use your dreamcrafting! Make yourself useful and help getting rid of this nightmare!" She said angrily while sending those Grimspawn back into the shadows they were created in. Mateo shook his head and started attacking the nightmare creatures with his pencil. Mateo was so focused on the fight that he didn't notice the Grimkeepers that were approaching them. "Watch out! Grimkeepers!" the unknown dreamer yelled to warn him while failing against a horde of Grimspawn. 

Mateo wanted to help her but he first had to get away from the Grimkeepers that were seemingly focused on him. He began running as fast as he could while yelling "I will return with help, I promise!!" "No! Stay away from here! They wa..." the rest he couldn't understand because the Grimspawns screeching and the Grimkeepers roaring was too loud. Mateo ran towards where he entered the fantasy realm, followed by a group of Grimspawn. He imagined the door and it opened. He jumped through onto the landing, where his friends and Mr. Oz were standing in front of the bus. Mateo was completely out of breath and tried to get any word formed but nothing was coming out. 

"Mateo! Where have you been?! I was worried!" Mr. Oz came running to him. "I..." he was too out of breath to speak but he couldn't let the girl get captured! "I was...looking for...Meg...Megan. But I ran...into a...nightmare...and the strange...girl from...last night came...and saved...me..." "Where is she? Mateo don't tell me she is still there!" Mr. Oz asked him sternly, meanwhile Mateo got his breath back. "She stayed there to get their attention on herself and away from me so that I could escape. We have to save her!" Mateo said while going back towards the door. "Mateo, NO! We can't! They probably already took her by this time!" Mr. Oz told him but he wouldn' listen. "Then I am going in alone again! I don't care! Izz, Coop, Logan are you with me?" "Sure thing brother!" Izzie replied to Mateo and jumped through the door, followed by the others. "Lead us there Mateo!" Cooper said as soon as they were all there. 

He nicked and began running towards the little clearing they were fighting on. But when they arrived no nightmares were seen anywhere... But she was still there... Laying on the ground, heavily breathing and staring into the sky. Mateo walked up to her to help her up. "Who are you?" he asked, confused but she wouldn't answer and just kept staring into the sky. Mr. Oz then reached them and came up to Mateo. "What is the problem he- Oh No! Stay away from her!" He said and reached for his Edison Ray and pointed it at her but nothing happened."I could have sworn I saw something... Anyways... Wait. Hello? Can you hear me?" Mr. Oz asks but when she doesn't reply and just keeps staring into the sky he says. 

"Quickly grab onto her! We have to bring her somewhere safe!" the friends helped Mr. Oz and Mateo invited her to their landing. As soon as they arrive there Cooper asks "Why did we bring her here Mr. Oz?" "She seems to be stuck between being awake and asleep. The state you enter when you wake up from a dream and try to get back into it. If you are in the wrong place, if that happens, you can get hurt badly or night terrors and other nightmare creatures can enter the awake world. It is as if your dream body and your awake body are in the same place." "How do we recognize something like that Mr. Oz?" Izzie asks and Mr. Oz replies "The dreamer is staring into thin air and unable to hear, see and move. If she falls asleep again she won't know where she is. Let me handle that then okay." 

The friends waited a couple minutes when the girl blinked rapidly, sat up and shook her head. "Where am I?" she asks calmly and looks around till she sees Mr. Oz. She stood up fast and brought out her spear. "Why am I here? Who are you?!" "Calm down, Mateo over here saved you." she looked at Mateo with a serious look. Her hair was covering up parts of her face, which made her look like a dreamer dressed up as a Grimspawn. "He didn't save me, he blew my cover! How do I get back to the fantasy realm?!" she angrily said and looked at the friends, ready to attack if needed. Izzie took a step forward towards her and said "We don't want to hurt you.? You can trust us." "Stay away!" She said and in a cloud of golden sand a huge black cat appeared in between them. 

"You are a dreamcrafter!" Logan said surprised. "Exactly what I wanted to say Logan." Cooper then snapped in and laughed a little. The friends now tried to calm the cat down to get to the girl but it turned around and faded into dreamsand again, just for them to realise that the girl ran through the door. Mateo sprinted after the fading dreamsand and Izzie followed him. "I guess we go after the unknown again!" Cooper says and follows with Logan. "Cooper, Logan! Stop! Uh... Gosh, wait for me!"

Mateo caught up to her and is now right behind her, only to notice that she seemingly still fights with staying asleep. She is trembling and her movements make no sense. "Hey! Stop!" He yells which makes her run even faster while constantly looking behind her. "NO! Stop! The realm ends there! HEY!" Even though he tells her, his effort comes too late and she trembles off the realm, waking up fully.
