Sam was sat at his usual bar chair in the kitchen, Elliot and Diane was going through a big paper bag they had brought in. Leah was eating her breakfast and Judd was loitering around.
Diane brought out a few white boxes "New phone day!" She handed a small box to Leah, Elliot and put one in front of herself. Sam smiled watching Leah unbox her new phone, it was like a mini Christmas. He was so busy watching her that he didn't notice the little white box that had been put in front of him "and one for Sammy!" Diane continued
Sam looked down at the little box that was identical to Leah's "oh.. you didn't have to do that, I have a phone" he took his old phone out of his pocket
"The screen is smashed and the camera doesn't work sweetie, don't worry about it I love spoiling my children!" Elliot beemed, unboxing his phone.
Sam couldn't help but smile, he cautiously unpacked his new phone, it had a green backing to it and was a lot bigger than his old phone. He smiled and looked at Leah "how do you boot it up?"
Leah held out her hand and Sam placed his new phone in it. She smiled as she held power button "hold this for at least five seconds" she explained, in a few seconds the phone turned on. She handled it back to Sam "they are pretty easy to set up from there"
Sam nodded and waited for it to fully turn on, when it did he set up a password. He was a little confused by the fingerprint scanner, he had never had to do that before but Leah helped him.
Diane giggled, Elliot looked over her shoulder "what's so funny, oh let me see I wanna be a part of this"
Diane smiled "They updated the graphics so when I shake my boggle it just looks so cute!" This made Sam smile, it was nice to see her genuinely so entertained.
Nick walked into the kitchen, Sam wondered why he didn't come in sooner but his thoughts were interrupted by Leah "Hay Nick, new phone day!"
"New phone day!!" He replied in a silly deep voice while gesturing to his crotch, making Sam giggle
"I'm sticking with burners ass wipes" Judd finally spoke up, snapping his old burner flip phone
"That's Judd, off the grid and out of site" Elliott smiled looking proud, he looked at all of his kids like that.
Leah handed Nick her old phone before walking off to get ready for school "take good care of her"
Sam cocked his head "why doesn't Nick get a new one?" He asked Judd who was getting a can of cola out of the fridge
"Because he's a little bitch who never looks after his things. Until he doesn't smash the hand me downs mom won't get him a brand new one" he opened his drink and chugged it, then crushed the van
"How hard is it to not smash a phone? Did he even have a fucking case?" Benji asked with a full mouth, eating a bowl of cereal
"I mean it's not hard to take care of a phone, you just need a case" Sam muttered
"Tell little bitch boy that" Judd chuckled, walking off to do god knows what. Sam put his plate from breakfast in the sink and ran upstairs to get his bag ready, school starts soon.
